2025-08-22 00:41:26 +0000 UTCWhat I’ve only just realised is Katniss killed both tributes from district 1 and the boy from district 2. 3/4 of the careers were killed by Katniss! Also the district 11 boy killed the district 2 girl. The final 4 were district 1 boy, district 11 boy and district 12 boy and girl. That was a year for underdogs with alliances between 11 & 12 throughout.

2025-08-09 17:32:18 +0000 UTCI believe the reason they had the scene with her father is because his passing (as well as her mother’s emotional distance after the accident) was discussed much more in the books. I think it was their way of informing movie viewers, who had not read the book, of how her father passed and to provide backstory. I will say, I really love the metaphor in the scene with her father’s death. After showing the mineshaft explosion, it shows their house exploding as well (which didn’t actually happen). The explosion is then reversed and it cuts to Katniss trying to get through to her mom. Great visual way of showing how her fathers death “exploded” their household/family as well
