Quintessential Quintuplets MOVIE

This movie was EVERYTHING! Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs ❤️

(ps this movie basically took 8 hours to upload so lets hope there's no issues)

are you guys watching the honeymoon arc also?

An interesting tidbit I've learned that may be apocryphal is that the Ayana Sakura (Yotsuba's voice) originally voiced all of the Quints in a TV ad for the manga and allegedly they were thinking about doing the anime with her voicing all five of them for the entire run. I'd love to see a re-release of the show with their hair all the proper pink color and all of the voice lines dubbed by Sakura to give that real quint confusion experience.

Cara was ready to throw hands with that bastard NGL the biological dad reveal made me drop my drink in shock, never saw that coming at all. i had to mop before continuing with the movie lmao.

yeah what a finale... I don't know what to write. I've easily watched it 7+ times already, and I can't put into words how much I love this show. I just wanted to say thank you for letting me enjoy this masterpiece once again with you and I'm glad you all seemed to like it too. I actually only got your Patreon for this, but I think I'll be sticking around for a while. so what an goated finale for an even greater show 😂🙏

I was just at an anime convention, and I had a wonderful conversation with a vendor about this series. The vendor was selling me cards for the Quintessential Quintuplets trading card game, and she let me know Ichika apparently still has a gigantic fan base in Japan. Me: “Even after what she did?” Vendor: “Right!?” Anyway lol. I been saying that Yotsuba is best girl, but the important thing is that Futaro agrees 💚💍 I know that we still have the honeymoon arc, but that you guys for this amazing reaction series. It’s now my favorite of your collections!!! 🫶🏼

So I remember the criticisms when the manga finished. Even a lot of us who converted to the Yotsuba bandwagon felt that the “Yotsuba arc” got rushed. Miku, Nino, and Ichika got dedicated arcs in the manga. For Itsuki, it’s debatable. Yes, Yotsuba had moments peppered in as legitimate hints that she was the endgame, but her arc in the manga felt very rushed… at least it did feel that way to me. I thought I heard rumblings that the mangaka basically felt ready to move on to whatever was the next project; not sure if it was confirmed. But if it’s true, I felt that it really showed. I’m SO THANKFUL for the pre-movie OVA 2 (I hadn’t seen it before), because it consolidated Yotsuba’s arc more coherently than the manga. I could be remembering it wrong; it has been a while. But that’s how I remember it.

After suggesting this series for you guys for a long, long time. I'm very happy ya'll enjoyed it and appreciated how the ending was done. You may be shocked to hear it had a lot of criticism when it came out. I personally never took issue with it. I think it did a very good job of sort of giving everyone's "team" their moment.

I honestly think my favorite part of the movie is the full circle moment where Itsuki says she has an idea and asks Fuu to tutor her, and instead of turning her down like he did before, he says “Yes, gladly.” Even just typing that out made me misty-eyed. I really love their relationship, even if it’s by far the least romantic.

Now that you guys have seen the official couple I can finally point out fuutarou’s hair matching yotsuba’s ribbon.

Even though the OVA made it a little too clear who'll most likely win, we actually thought it was the best way to be happy with Yotsuba winning in the end, that OVA just made her seem like the one we want to win it all. Also love that lore drop at the end regarding them potentially being half white! Even if it's not canon you make really convincing points😂

This felt good. Thank you

What a great reaction to a wonderful movie. The Yotsuba parts really choked me up the first time I saw it/read it. I honestly felt so bad for her. She was starting to crash out as a ten-year-old (or so, I dont remember exactly how old she was supposed to be when she put on the ribbon). As for the OVA's, I had previously recommended (in a comment) watching OVA2 after the movie for the exact reason you talked about at the end of the movie. My concern was that you were both too smart and would figure out the bride by watching it lol Which, you pretty much did exactly that. OVA2 came out after the movie, and the script was written in a way that assumes you've already seen the movie. Either way, I dont feel like it tanked the reaction, but it would have been nice for you two to be more unsure about who was going to get picked lol As for the Miku hug, I didnt think much about it until you brought up it 'feeling weird'. Personally, my understanding is that they have been close as a family for 5 years by that point. To me, it was no different than hugging a brother. I can totally see it being weird if she still harbored romantic feelings for him, but I didnt get that impression from Miku. Nino on the other hand, I think she still thought she had a chance all the way up until the wedding day lol. It was brought up in another comment, but those "if" scenarios were just a poor translation. All of those events happened; it was just what happened each day from each sister's perspective with Futaro. So yes, Futaro smooched all of them besides Itsuki. Miku definitely had the hottest smooch though. I thought she was going to take his cookies for a moment there lol. 17 year old me would have been bricked up for sure and probably second guessing my choice (17 year old me was not the brightest) lmao. One of my only complaints (that I dont consider a small thing) is that we never got to know more about Futaro's mom. We know she was a baker (or rather, she liked to bake), we know his family took on a ton of debt so his mom could open a bakery/cafe and thats about it. I dont remember the manga even going into much more detail that that. I would have loved just a bit more about what Futaro's life was like before his mom passed away and what type of woman his mother was. When it comes to the quints biological father, my personal thought is that the quints are hafu's (half Japanese, half white). My reason being, is their father does not look Japanese at all. Bald head and goatee? Ive been living in Japan for over 10 years now and have never seen a Japanese man with blue eyes and a goatee like that. Given that he's also a traveling teacher of sorts, thats a fairly common type of job for foreigners here. Usually, they are english teachers who travel around to different prefectures every 1-2 years based on contract. Its sad, but not uncommon for those types to knock a Japanese woman up and then bounce when the next contract hits. Male english teachers dont always have the best reputation because of it (depending on where you live). I dont think that was ever confirmed though, its just something I thought of when I saw him for the first time. Before someone comments "But he has a Japanese name", Im aware lol my friend also has a Japanese name but has blonde hair, blue eyes, as white as can be and from the midwest US. He adopted a Japanese name when he naturalized as a citizen (while you dont have to, its highly advised that you do, or you're going to run into issues with things like banking, loans, official documents, stuff like that. I can go into detail if someone really wants to know lmao), so I dont see why this character couldnt have done the same. Either way, its just a fun fan theory of mine lol. We still have the honeymoon episodes! So, the shows not over yet!
