1 week animation loop challenge - day 7 -10 (final)

hey yalll, extremely sleep deprived bunnymutt here haha. so yeah i didnt hit the 1 week mark which was expected by day 6. its unfortunate but I gave it my best go! over the weekend, I ended up not really doing all too much, had a bit of a dramatic evening on Saturday and ended up needing sunday to chill out. during this time though, I did slowly work on coloring the frames.

Monday tho I was back in action and finished coloring and cutting out every frame. Its super easy to underestimate how long this takes haha. Took me the whole day! Especially since I opted to exacto out each frame. But it all came together and I think they all look really nice ^w^

Tuesday was film day. Which holy shit, it was a long journey haha. started the day by setting up the set and finishing details. I finished painting this wall and I also hot glued a stand out of popsicle sticks for putting the frames on. I also sprayed a bit of spray adhesive to the end so that it was a bit sticky so i can put the paper frames onto it but have it peel away easily without ruining them

I also made a stand for the pee stream, which I also made frames for

then the set was ready!!

When I went to go film tho, I ran into an issue. usually, I hook my camera up to my pc and use digicamcontrol, which is an excellent free program for stop motion that has onionskinning. Its important so I dont touch the camera and I can line up the frames each time. Only I'm on my boyfriends computer rn since my computer still hasnt been repaired since it broke back in April. And for whatever reason this programs onionskinning feature would freeze everytime I tried it. It's a bit of a buggy program. Attempted to update drivers and do a lot of fixes and nothing worked. So I decided to acquire a definitely very legal copy of dragonframe, which is the really nice stop motion program that is the industry standard and they've use to make films like Coraline. Always wanted to use this and im glad I took the time to nab it. It works so much better!!

Filming this one was hellllll. It was very very difficult to get the paper to line up everytime on this particular shot. It was angled weird and you could see the characters full body and there were just so many variables of where this paper could be in a 3d space. It made it not only take a long time but essentially impossible to actually line up perfect. I even had to restart after my first attempt because it was way too wobbly. I'll spare ya all the grueling details, but I ended up staying up all night till 6am filming it. I am. so tired rn haha. I'm very sleep deprived atm, and im kinda loosely writing this after sleeping for 4 hours. I think thats pretty much it? I edited the video in DaVinci Resolve, which is another free video editing program

Then I was done! Here's the finished result:
i'll be making a seperate post of this soon, lmk if u have questions about my process
thanks for all your support everyone!!!! Starting on letters later today <3

goodnight
