2024-11-12 14:17:40 +0000 UTCTrying to understand what the "real thing" is, is basically the same as trying to understand your emotions. Just like 8man, you can find their causes, but understand them is a constant journey in your life; that's why you try, succeed and fail all the time. I think 8man basically feels that he's traped, stagnant, not really alive because he doesn't move, he doesn't take risks, he doesn't try. Now for the first time he wants to try, to risk, to move forward or back, to be free, to experience, to live. A found new possibility thanks Yukino and Yui that may allow him to open further. This show is indeed vague, and of course is kinda for the sake of drama. But is also like that so that the audience feel lost as the characters. Even after watching and reading the LN so many times, I always love to see the different interpretations that are born from that confusion.

2024-11-12 01:07:09 +0000 UTCIn that scene when he opens up i love when people notice hikky POV. Imagine yourself being closed up after many horrible experiences and finally opening up to be shut down and rejected like that. That empty look on his face is soo impactfull. I doubt i would pick up myself enough to be able to trust that person ever again not to mention going after her

2024-11-12 00:22:55 +0000 UTCyeah sadly the official subs for this series is not good, So crunchyroll and basically any pirate site because they just rip from crunchyroll. Its kinda sad the Crunchyroll fucked this series so hard

2024-11-11 15:50:21 +0000 UTCFor years, I've been ruminating what the hell "real thing" mean here, even after finishing the 3rd season. After rewatching it now, "genuine thing" fits better imo I could be totally wrong, but I think it's related to the way things they've kept from each other. Like how Yui never confronted Hachi directly about the accident. Like how Yuki never said anything when she was actually involved in it. Like Hachiman's disappointment when Yuki isn't as honest as he expected. It's not like any of them should be held responsible for the accident, but when they tip around it they felt their relationship less genuine. More things piling up, more unresolved feeling, and now they can't ignore how off it felt. Yuki was overwhelmed, Yui was desperate to hold it together, and Hachi was reluctant to involve himself (thus reluctant to involve others with him)

2024-11-11 14:30:35 +0000 UTCUnfortunately the subtitles were not great on this one, when he says "the real thing", you can replace it by "something genuine". What Hachi wants and request of the club at the moment is relationships where all feelings and emotions would be genuine, which for him is extremely difficult since it would mean allowing himself to be hurt and hurt others by those same genuine intentions (thanks sensei for the speech o7 ). Really great reaction

2024-11-11 14:26:49 +0000 UTCYeah, so the main reason why people dont like Oregairu is due to how vague it is. I really enjoy it but to be honest I feel lost a lot of the time, I just got happy since this is the first time Hachi has shown any kind of vulnerability and accepts his failures as something he needs to change. Also, Sensei is the best I would marry her in a heart bit.
