Anticheat and Viaversion

Hello patrons,

CivClassic used AAC as the anti-cheat plugin which I was quite happy with. Unfortunately the plugin owner went AWOL and the plugin is only good up to 1.16.5, meaning we cannot use it for CivMC which will be 1.18. We've been researching some other anti-cheats and have settled on Vulcan. We've done some testing and tweaks and think it is ready to go. This is one of those tasks that took up time and is important but isn't flashy or interesting to players - if the anticheat is working right most of you will never know it's there!

A more notable update is after some testing with ViaVersion and ViaBackwards, CivMC will not allow older clients to connect. This means you will only be able to play on the server with 1.18.1 clients. With the new world height older clients are simply broken on 1.18 maps, which is too great of an issue to allow. We fully believe this will lead to a more coherent gameplay experience for all players.
