The Cockpit

It's finally here! I have never worked harder on a project and this still took way more work than I expected. It's a bit more advanced to print than a lot of my other files, but overall I tried to make it as easy as possible to print and paint. Turn off supports except when instructed.

Each section of the cockpit has it's own folder and images to clarify the printing and assembly.

It's also optimized for optional AMS (multi color) printing, most panels and buttons are the same depth so you can just knock out all of the filament changes on a single layer. The prototype in the photos was done with 2 AMS units and has no paint. If you only have one, I recommend printing all of the silver panel lining and yellow buttons in white and going over it with a silver sharpie and yellow paint.

LED lighting is something I hope to be able to bring to these files in the future, but is not currently supported. If you had experience with LED's, I'd love to chat!

What I used:

Zap-a-gap glue
PET for windows
Light gray (main body)
Dark gray
Black
Silver panel lining
Blue buttons
Red buttons
Yellow buttons

Joe

Crossed his right left over his left at the ankles and slid his seat back

Landspeeder Luke

how did you fit BS Chewie in this?

Joe

Does this version have L3 from Solo in the back wall?

Esteban Romo

ah ok, thank you!!

Joe

Ohh that holds up the nose of the falcon from under. The title might be wrong

Landspeeder Luke

I don't mean the pegs the seats sit on, there was some other .stl called "FrontChairBase" that is a rectangle with a slope in the center. Haven't figured out how it fits into the model yet

Joe

And the chair base slides in through the back of the nose floor

Landspeeder Luke

Nope you just use the window piece as the stencil

Landspeeder Luke

this is amazing!! qq - how do you use the ForntChairBase piece? and do you have a stencil for the front window?

Joe

thank you kind sir!

Craft3D Creations

If there are files that start with “.-“ or something similar you can ignore them. They are false duplicates created when zipping the folder

Landspeeder Luke

I have only successfully been able to open the nose base / window flat/ chair base files. everything else says corrupted in Cura.

Craft3D Creations

anyone else having trouble opening the files? I have re-downloaded several times and most of the files say they are corrupt or an object does not exist when opening in Cura.

Craft3D Creations

Dropping the speed way down worked perfect! Thanks! This came out amazing.

CosmicForce3DPrints

Low speed and turn on brims

Landspeeder Luke

Any tips on printing the levers? I'm having a tough time with adhesion haha

Michael Cannone

this is dope -- any chance at some precolored 3mf files so we don't have to do all that?

Block BB

A masterpiece! Thanks Luke :)

Volkan Bilenler

Matte latte brown for the chairs. They skew a little more yellow in these photos.

Landspeeder Luke

Im guessing its... Matte Desert Tan for the front seats and back door frame Matte Dark Brown for the back seat pads

Mogo

Front seats as well? They look more yellow.

John Leo

Is it possible to add the window bars on the front top?

hondo

Also Bambu matte filament colors.

Landspeeder Luke

marcus webb

Cason Pilliod

What colors did you use for the front seats and the pads / cushions on the back seats?

John Leo

There’s a small base to hold up the nose but it’s designed to sit flat on a shelf.

Landspeeder Luke

Truely amazing mate, is ot free standing or are you doing a base for it

Ian Butler

Brian Dickie
