Added 2019-06-19 14:00:00 +0000 UTCThe hardest part of this one is that--without stepping full force into the culture wars of the moment--MCU Carol strikes me as being both not much of a character... and what little character she is being kind of a bitch. The kind of character who, in the words of Leon Phelps, is liable to give one a hard-off. So I wanted to come up with something MCU-adjacent, recognizable without being quite such a shrew. First stop: I think Katee Sackhoff could make a measure of smugness and cockiness endearing rather than off-putting, while also having the necessary physique to be a little believable as a Marvel powerhouse. Yeah, yeah, it's a superhero movie, they could say Alyson Hannigan is the strongest person alive, but it just feels off when one of Earth's mightiest mortals is a walking triangle and then the other is a model for yoga pants, doesn't it?
Come to think of it, Trish Stratus in her prime would've been one hell of a Ms. Marvel. Something to think about...

2019-06-19 20:14:54 +0000 UTCI’m reminded of how MCU!Mantis is an idiot with barely more brain cells than Drax while the comics version is probably the smartest one on the DnA!GotG, a master of the martial arts, former member of the Avengers(and JL due to some funny history)and can see into the future so she knows if the plan they’re making will work or not
