This is a piece that flowed very smoothly. It's always nice when that happens, isn't it? Haha! I have such a love for drawing curvy poses, and I think that is part of why it worked out well from the initial sketch stage. I love emphasizing the juxtaposition of the hips vs the shoulders and really pushing that tilt of the hips.

When I began coloring this piece, I started with the kind of weird, gray color scheme that I used for Shadowheart's portrait that I did a little while ago, but more and more, I decided that I wanted a bit more color and especially purple emphasized in this piece.

As far as the theme for this piece, I actually had a different title in mind because as I worked on it, I was imagining Shadowheart taking the darker path and continuing to worship Shar, the goddess of darkness. The alternative title I imagined was "Creature of Shar" or "Shar's Creature". But once completed, I decided to make the title a little more generic since not everyone is familiar with the DnD dieties. In my mind, I still kind of like those titles. They are a little darker and creepier to me. hehe.
