Welcome to Cargonia! May '19 - Bounty Report

The very first cargo ordering system and cargo shuttle control has been implemented. Thanks to Vlandemart and Stritirok for putting in a mammoth effort getting it done.  Watch the video above to see it in action.   

What is funny about this first iteration is that you can actually sell humans. We are tossing up whether we allow the trade of human players if the console has been emagged. Obviously any player who is sold will be gibbed and processed back at the Nanotrasen processing plant. If the Cargo console has not been emagged then you can travel with the cargo to the processing plant and watch the cargo be loaded / unloaded before returning. Granted that you have enough oxygen on board! This will open up new game modes in the future where supply lines might come under attack by swaths of carp or Russian agents and you will need to arm up some Cargonians to travel with the wares to make sure they arrive safely.

Cloning console has also been completed thanks to Aranclanos. The drag and drop feature was also implemented by ChairBender so this now allows us to finish off the Medbay Cloner which is planned for completion in the coming month. 

So much work has been done this past month that there is too much to mention in this post. All up $850 usd was spent on bounty completions and $28 on server costs.

This screenshot is from a steam play test we ran this morning to see how many players the server could handle:

We managed to get over 360 players before the server started to really struggle, so not bad!

How are we tracking in terms of 0.4 beta release? Well we are slightly behind as I would of liked the Medbay Cloner to be full functional by this time but other then that we are doing well. These next two months are focused on Security, Service and Command departments. 

It's safe to say that all of the major hurdles that  would of otherwise stopped a SS13 remake of this size have been solved. We are now entering a new era for unitystation and that is the era of content! We have been serious from day 1 about achieving our goal of a lag free SS13 experience no matter what your ping and we are very close to bringing that to the community. There is now only a few months left of development to achieve the 0.4 steam release target.
