Chapter 85: Little Gilgamesh
Added 2025-06-05 13:33:25 +0000 UTCSunlight streamed through the window and fell onto Arthur’s bed. The dazzling light made him open his eyes. Feeling the softness and warmth in his arms, Arthur recalled the wonderful events of yesterday.
He lowered his head and looked at the adorable little girl resting in his arms.
Wait—little girl?!
How could this be?! Just yesterday, she was a stunning beauty. How had she turned into a ten-year-old little girl overnight?! No, that’s not right!
Arthur sat up abruptly. His sudden movement was a bit too large, and it directly woke the little girl in his arms.
“What are you doing? I’m so tired, let me rest!”
“Rest what rest! Get up quickly!” Arthur picked up the little girl and kept rubbing her adorable little face.
“Okay, okay!” The little girl opened her eyes, but upon seeing her petite figure, a shocking scream rang out.
“Ah!!!”
“Don’t shout!”
“Ah!!!”
“Don’t shout!”
“Ah!… Thank you.” The little girl nonchalantly took out a piece of chocolate and started eating it. Seeing this, Arthur completely broke down. It was over—it was truly over. This time, she had really turned into child Gil.
“System!! What’s going on?!”
“Ding dong, answering the host. Because the Heroic Spirit Gilgamesh has undergone too many battles, resulting in excessive mana depletion, the host’s mana is insufficient to fully compensate for the deficit. Therefore, Gilgamesh has not returned to her complete form.”
“What? So that’s it!” Arthur looked helplessly at the little girl before him. He was truly unlucky! He had just won over Gilgamesh, only for her to be in this state. It was truly awkward!
“System, is there any way?”
“Ding dong, method one: obtain mission rewards and successfully receive rewards that compensate for the mana deficit.
Method two: make a wish on the Holy Grail. Because the host has successfully absorbed the Evil of This World, the Holy Grail has been restored to its original state and can fulfill wishes.”
“The Holy Grail? Does that mean I have to go back to the Fifth Holy Grail War? System, can I go back now?”
“Ding dong, no. The host needs to successfully complete the missions issued by the system before leaving this world.”
“Missions?”
“Ding dong, mission one: due to the host’s actions, there is a runaway Heroic Spirit in this world. The host needs to send them back to the Throne of Heroes or subdue them to prevent the order of this world from being destroyed. (Hint: once a Heroic Spirit is recognized by the world, they can break free from system monitoring. Therefore, please find them quickly.) Reward: one random draw.
Mission two: not yet unlocked.”
“Another runaway Heroic Spirit? It seems I’m destined to be busy. System, how can a Heroic Spirit gain the world’s recognition?”
“Kill the protagonist of this world!”
“Kojou Akatsuki?”
“Exactly!”
It seemed he had no choice but to go to Itogami Island. Arthur looked at the little girl before him, who was smiling at him. He remembered her sacrifices for him and stroked her head gently.
“Don’t worry, I will definitely turn you back.”
“Mm!” The little girl nodded adorably. “Um… do you have any more of that thing from before?”
“Little kids can’t eat too many sweets! It’s bad for your teeth!” Arthur immediately put on a stern face. He couldn’t let her develop bad habits from a young age; he had to educate her properly. At ten years old, Gilgamesh should still be a wise ruler, so Arthur was quite relieved.
“Do you still recognize me?”
“Of course I do! You are this king’s consort!”
Smack! Arthur directly knocked the little girl’s head. “Wrong! You are my consort!”
“No no no! You are my consort!”
“One chocolate bar!”
“No, this is a matter of principle.”
“Two chocolate bars!”
“How is that possible? I am the king!”
“Final offer: five bars!”
“Ten bars! Not one less!”
“Deal!” Arthur took out a handful of chocolate bars. He had originally bought them out of boredom but didn’t expect them to be so useful.
“Come on, say it first.” Arthur dangled the chocolate bars in front of her.
The little girl looked at them with stars in her eyes. After thinking for a long time, she finally said, “Husband.”
“Good girl.” Arthur gave her the chocolate bars. He didn’t realize at all that his current demeanor was just like those creepy uncles who use candy to lure little girls.
Arthur watched the little girl happily eating beside him, then put on his clothes and left. Outside, he instructed a maid to find a set of girls’ clothes for a ten-year-old, since the little girl didn’t even have proper clothes.
Arthur gently dressed her and styled her hair into two cute pigtails. Looking at the adorable little girl before him, Arthur felt a sense of comfort.
However, the maids’ gazes beside him were filled with suspicion, their expressions like they were looking at a beast. What was that all about?! He could explain this—she really wasn’t like this yesterday!
Unfortunately, it was likely that no one would believe Arthur’s words. Sigh… it was truly a case of being unjustly accused.
Arthur carried the little girl out of the room. After a morning of conversation, he understood that although the current little girl had his memories, her mental age was only ten years old. Bringing her out felt just like having his daughter with him. (Arthur appeared to be a young man in his twenties, and in ancient times, sixteen was generally the age for marriage.)
“Arthur! You’re back!” Arthur walked into the conference room with the little girl. The Knights of the Round Table—Diarmuid, the two Jeannes, and Le Fay—were all waiting for him. In addition, Arthur saw Tokiomi Tohsaka standing respectfully to the side.
“Hello everyone!”
Arthur sat directly in the main seat and placed the little girl on his lap.
“Arthur, who is this?” Clearly, Le Fay hadn’t recognized Gilgamesh’s identity.
“My newly recognized younger sister,” Arthur said casually. Seeing this, the others didn’t ask further. Subjects were not allowed to casually discuss the monarch; this was a basic rule for Arthur’s knights.
“Strange, Diarmuid, your face?” Arthur suddenly noticed that the black mole on Diarmuid’s face was gone. Although he was still handsome, he was merely handsome now.
“My King?” Diarmuid bowed respectfully. “This black mole of mine brought too much trouble, so I discarded it.”
“Discard it then, it wasn’t very useful anyway,” Arthur nodded. Seeing Arthur’s attitude, Diarmuid sat down directly. He had long known that most of the Knights of the Round Table were women, and all of them were the King’s women. Therefore, his black mole had never brought him any glory. It was better gone, saving the monarch any annoyance.
“In that case, I declare the latest conference to begin!”
The new Round Table Knights conference officially began.

(Author Note: Regarding little Gilgamesh—she represents Gilgamesh’s little girl period, not child Gil. Please don’t view little Gilgamesh through the same lens as child Gil. As for her appearance, I have thought about it for a long time. I plan to have Gil experience three stages: childhood, youth, and old age. This is foreshadowing, so just watch. On the other hand, I really like little Gilgamesh. Okay, enough talk—everyone just enjoy reading.)
