In regards to what Eve's mother said at the hospital. She's talking about how she always hated that Eve was a superhero because she's gonna get herself killed. Eve's parents always wanted her to just be a regular girl. But then the mom brings up how the "regular girl" across the street died, meanwhile their superhero daughter is still alive. So she's kind of coming to terms with that Eve is in danger no matter what she does with her life I think. At least, that's my interpretation of what she said.
