2023-12-13 23:50:23 +0000 UTCThe little details this show pays attention to are amazing. Just rewatched the first episode and noticed Frieren took the ring out to hold after Himmel’s funeral. Excuse me while I get away from this bowl of onions that just appeared up next to me. 😭

2023-12-11 08:23:28 +0000 UTCI think it’s important to remember that Fern pretty much grew up with no friends her own age. Even setting aside her being a teenager having to deal with messy romantic/sexual feelings for the first time she has next to no experience interacting with boys her own age. Fern and Stark are basically each others only viable romantic option. At least as long as they continue to travel with Frieren on a trip that will take years. If this was a western YA series I could imagine Fern and Stark hooking up only to eventually realise that they aren’t the love of each other’s life and part as friends. A lot of western YA depicts teenagers experimenting with sex and relationships as a learning process. Which I think is more realistic than what I see in a lot of manga and anime where character are either asexual or perverts.

2023-12-10 16:56:22 +0000 UTCFrieren had no idea what the symbol meant, she already said so and she doesn't lie. She picked the ring at pretty much random. Himmel made a sad face because he recognize the symbol and what him giving it to her implied (even though she picked it). I don't agree that Himmel [[professed]] his love to her. He knew that Frieren didn't get people and, what this show has shown us time and time again, and even in the first part of this episode, is that you should be more clear and convey your feelings to the other directly. Himmel did NOT want to convey his feelings to Frieren. That's why they mostly show him being melancholic. You can think that he was afraid of rejection or, most likely, because he knew that it wouldn't work due to the immense discrepancy of their expected life expectancy.

2023-12-09 07:32:24 +0000 UTCFern Kicking Sein did get a laugh out of me 😁 Stark and Fern, they are so cute together. 😁 Frieren with the pat on the head 🥰 The falling wagon, Well Frieren did say they had to calculate how to stop the carriage from falling just before they hit the ground. I guess the calculation was a bit off 😁 but they did save the horse 😁 and no one was seriously injured. I like that there is not a quick spell for everything. Sometimes it’s too much of a cheat to have spells for everything. Sein is a good addition to the group. Fern and Stark are still young and Frieren is her own thing. So Great to have Sein on board. Yep I knew when you were talking about spell that Frieren could learn from people that the marchen had one 😁 😁Love your reaction to Himmel with the ring 😍. And Frieren was clueless all this time. I do think Frieren understand now the significance of the ring she did smile and remember it fondly 😍 🤣I’m pretty sure it not affecting her in the level it affected you 🤣 She is an elf after all. And they seem to have a much harder time with affection. This show is really something special. They succeed in making every episode so good without being action packed. It’s all the little moments that matter so much more in the end. Take Care 😋
