Froggy Fresh as Perry Phoenix (Cleanup Test)

My first test with body/face/voice capture

This is just a little improv test I did the other day in full Rokoko suit with the headrig and my XLR mic strapped to it. It will always require a little cleanup, but it was loads of fun and so much quicker. Why take weeks using my mouse to move bones around, when I can just act it out in real space and get an even more realistic animation in 30...

Mocap Suit and Face capture test

I got the suit unpacked in the new place, and thanks to a friend I have an old iPhone that supports the face capture app for the suit. Slava and I have some dialing in and calibrating on the shapekeys, but if this works it's another giant leap forward in saving time in future productions.

The new house (!!!) is about 80% set up at this point, but my work area is 100% ready to go.

My friends who helped with the move are leaving tomorrow, then everything will return to business as usual, starting with a "Dirty Thirty" (30 days in a row of streaming music/mocap/animation work) to catch up on the time lost to moving and unpack...

Always Something Breaking Us in Two

Working long nights on finishing this short! As I said before, I'm not very good at animating the reference models manually, so I'm trying a mocap suit for less robotic-looking movements of the 2d animation.

This is a preview of the next short I'll be animating.

After animating the scene with Bill Grey, I can tell I'm not good enough at manually animating 3d rigs, so I'm going to try using decent mo-cap for the 3d reference models. We'll see how it turns out.

Almost Done with the Plush Animation!

At about 2.5 minutes long, all the characters have been animated (except for some mouth flaps for Wolf) and all the dialogue (including Wolf speaking Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Mandarin) has been recorded and mixed. The onboarding form for Wolfgang has been submitted, with this prototype. The process is identical to the one Rhys went through, so it'll be a month or so before I get a finished design back from Makeship.

Bill Gets His

In this scene, Bill gets detained and "interviewed" by his sergeant, immediately after Wolf's theft of the Greenie. Harsh lighting in an otherwise dark room; this will be an excellent opportunity to really put the new shadow details to the test.

Cornerian Premier-Elect Perry Q. Phoenix, and His Daughter

None of the recent events come as much surprise to Perry; he has some history with the O'Donnell's.

Perry will be voiced by Tyler "Froggy Fresh" Cassidy, and Kim Miley will reprise her role as Fara.
