Kind of Dunish?
This was in the Dune sketches. I think it's supposed to be the Grand Mother.

2022-09-11 06:00:03 +0000 UTC View PostJust a quick sketch I did of the two of us reading Dune.
2022-09-10 06:00:03 +0000 UTC View PostLong before the latest movie came out, Ian and I were reading Dune as a couple/ This was my interpretation of Lady Jessica in the book.
2022-09-08 06:00:03 +0000 UTC View PostMuch like the last construction sheet, this one goes over the general build for King Ollie. He has a lot more character here than some of my sketchier drawings. I like his devious face in the middle the most.
2022-09-05 06:01:03 +0000 UTC View PostThese sketches were done very quickly from reference with a brush pen.
2022-09-04 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostI was trying to re-imagine the T Rex based on new information we have about dinosaurs having feathers. I also tried to think of them as a lot meatier instead of the skeletal figures we see in movies.
2022-09-03 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostThis was probably sketches in about 5 minutes. Super rough.
2022-09-02 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostThis was rushed in only a few minutes because I was with my sister in law and she was rushing from painting to painting and wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
2022-09-01 06:01:02 +0000 UTC View PostThis was the comic I made when Tweeker died. He had been losing weight and drinking mounds of water. He knew it was his time and went out into the field in front of our house to let the vultures have him. He gave himself a sky burial.
2022-08-31 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostHere's another good one of Tweeker sleeping, and one of him pent up, and one of him with a bazooka -looking like Rambo.
Sketchbooks are weird places.
2022-08-30 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostOllie is fun to draw, and it took a lot of versions before I finally found the character face I was looking for. His eyes are a little too dark here as I think I'll make them more yellow and less orange, but I'm pleased with the general result.
2022-08-29 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostI drew a lot of images of Captain T, but very few of Tweeker, his inspiration. This is one of those.
2022-08-28 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostMore Ollie Poses. Chuck was a room mate Ian had before I moved in with him that Ollie LOVED. When he moved away, Ollie was visibly sad for a time. The other dream is him in ancient times.
2022-08-27 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostHere's another Ollie pose. I misspelled "Calligraphy," something terrible on this page. Look at it. Try to read that mess. Damn you, dyslexia! This is also done in brushpen.
2022-08-26 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostJust a random sketch of a cat. This is done in brush pen, no pencil.
2022-08-25 06:01:01 +0000 UTC View PostBatman was our room mate's cat out in California before moving to Colorado. He recently died as of 2 months ago, so he had a pretty good run (I think he was 15 when he passed). The cat wanted you to watch him eat.
2022-08-24 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostOllie really did have the best sleeping poses. And Ariel is fun to draw.
Naughtypants evolved into Captain T as I folded her world into his.
Tooth and Claw ended up being "spec work," for "exposure," and (most importantly) no pay. I'm sorry, but a girl needs to eat. So scrap that.
Create-amation is a show idea I came up with ye...
2022-08-23 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostWhen you draw your own character it's easy to remember what your character looks like, but if you ever hand your character off to other artists, you have to make sure they know how to draw what you've created. So, construction sheets are sometimes created to show the general proportions to others. You'll notice that T is a 3-fringered character....
2022-08-22 06:01:00 +0000 UTC View PostThis page got a little beat up from my bag with the opposite page rubbing on it, but you can still see some good sketches of the Ollie cat. He always had these amazing sleep poses.
2022-08-19 06:00:03 +0000 UTC View PostOllie Cat got very sick from cancer and in the end, we took him into the vet and were with him until the last moment. We buried him under Pike's Peak here in Colorado. This is Tweeker greeting him at the pearly gates.
(I'm not crying, you're crying!)
2022-08-18 06:00:04 +0000 UTC View PostThis was an early sketch of the good captain. He has a belt, claws, and buttons which I removed from the final version. His sword is also a lot simpler than what you see here.
2022-08-17 06:00:04 +0000 UTC View PostThis was a very early sketch of Sargent before I really knew how I wanted to draw him. His head ended up a lot bigger while he ended up a lot smaller overall.
2022-08-16 06:00:03 +0000 UTC View PostThis is a marker-color character sheet I made when I finalized the design for Captain T. His faces at the bottom are a little off model in some places, but I'm overall pleased with the progress.
2022-08-15 06:01:02 +0000 UTC View PostThis was a quick sketch from life of a sculpture Dali did called Venus De Milo with Drawers that was on display at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. I didn't have much time with the piece.
2022-08-11 03:15:19 +0000 UTC View PostTweeker was the inspiration for Captain T. This is a sketch of him playing.
2022-08-04 04:44:24 +0000 UTC View PostOllie was always making great poses when he slept. This was one of them.
