Eithne studies

Those of you who follow my Facebook posts know I'm planning a not-safe-for-work spin-off to QUANTUM VIBE. It will feature my charcter Eithne Lamdagan, who was the central character in the QV: Assimulation story.

This will likely not be the final design for the character. I want to experiment with a different style. But I've been neglectin...

How I do this stuff

I've been too quiet here of late, one reason is the time I've put into the two recent Indiegogo promotions and the other is I've been cooking up this video.  A while back I asked whether people would want something like this more than just dumps of pencils and inks and I got a mostly positive response.

So, here it is and Happy Zagmuk...

My apologies for taking so long but I finally got the print copies of QUANTUM VIBE book 7 mailed to the $10+ patrons. Things have been a bit hectic around here. I'm still sorting out how to get the free copies of the e-book versions to the $5+ backers. Most likely solution will be credits to download the book from DriveThruComics.

At this point the reader can decide whether Diana was playing Lester or whether Lester was playing Diana all along. Or maybe both. Or maybe they both got played. Oh, the games people play.

First time we see Diana's new flat post-Gran Raio. This version of her didn't know Monty, which I suppose is a small mercy, considering what's in store for her. But right now she's a bit overwhelmed by all the information she can access here.

Callahan's now has branches in 2,497 locations throughout the human-settled universe.
Some of them have sentient chrysanthemums, so you can't be too sure of them.

One might think Diana is too ethical to manipulate a man with her sexuality that way.
One might also not really understand young women very well.

But she wasn't expecting to get asked out for a date.

Yeah I did a fair bit of tracing here but the painting is public domain.

For panels 3 and 5 I copied the inks over from Page 43 but then re-inked them, making adjustments in the process.

That last panel is where all those years reading Jack Kirby's Fantastic Four comics came in handy. I think. I tried not to ape that style too closely.

Also unfortunately the pencils to this page were lost in a late-night transfer mishap.

I can sort of understand nose-picking -- my nose gets itchy, too. But, eating boogers? That has to be some deep psychological shit.

I think the design of the I.C. "not-an-embassy" was based on the Holy Hand Granade from Monty Python's "Life of Brian" but I'm not sure.
