Update on the Plumjob Mod

Thanks to Shortphix, I just found out that the Plumjob mod affects the careers of NPC Sims and other Sims: meaning the game literally removes them from their careers and stops them from spawning to their jobs because they technically haven't passed an interview, nor do they have the required degrees. (i.e. NPCs doctors won't spawn to the hospital because they don't have a biology degree or didn't pass an interview lol).
Because of this, I will have to alter this part of the mod! Everything else is still normal!
Your Sim can still attend an interview and do all of the interactions and get buffs. This mod would just be for storytelling purposes and wouldn't actually affect whether or not they get a career. (Which is a bummer, because the whole purpose of the mod was for the added challenge 😭). But if it's going to affect NPCs, and potentially other mods, I'd rather change it!
Also, because of this, High School Years is no longer a requirement to have the mod, so yay to that I guess lol!
So, for those who downloaded, redownload the newer version!

P.S: No, this mod does not conflict with Kuttoe's Career Overhaul. I got asked that a few times today lol.

The problem isn’t the hidden trait per se, but rather the test set reference for careers in game. That test unfortunately applies to all Sims, instead of just your played household. So any other sim who doesn’t have the hidden “pass interview trait” or the hidden degree trait, are forced to quit their careers. This was causing spawn issues and could potentially be a problem for other mods. I’m looking for a way to manipulate the test reference. It’s looking unlikely, because of how the game is coded, but I’m trying. 🥲 (Sorry for the long post lol)

2025-02-20 03:16:08 +0000 UTCLol yeah, my mod is slightly different. It altered a test reference that required Sims to have that interview trait. It just so happened that the trait is required for all Sims and not just the Sims you guys play with. Either way it would affect both NPCs and some sims already established in careers because they need a specific hidden trait from passing their interview.

2025-02-20 03:12:17 +0000 UTCzer0 has a system kinda similar called 'job finding' or something along those lines! maybe you can see if they found a way around that how they did it?! (so far in my game none of my NPCs have lost their jobs that ive SEEN! i havent been to the hospital yet though!
