After many, many months, I've finally done all of the main girls.
I used a slow and time-consuming process to make these pieces using local AI generation and heavy editing as I wasn't satisfied with the standard approach of generation hundreds of images in hopes of getting one that didn't look warped.
Since AI has evolved in an explosive manner in the last year, the pieces all have different styles and levels of quality. You can see at least three distinct generations of AI tech by looking at the chronological order I made them, but the first two came out so bad that I ended up redoing them, and now I'm so tired of working on the girls that I don't have the energy to redo the rest.
Alissa and Hana v1 look the worst due to using models based on Stable Diffusion 1.5, which had a standard resolution of 512x512 pixels. I was also very inexperienced in working with AI art and also making art in general.
After that, I started using SDXL, which was made for around 1024x1024, and then I finally started to get happy with the results.
Roxanne's piece has some oddities, though. I didn't pay much attention to the background, just enough to have it passable, while the staff, hat, tail, and wings look out of place. If I had tried to add more alchemy instruments I'd have lost all sanity I had left.
Ciel's unfortunately is the unsexiest as I tried to go for her original priestly look. Her face also never looked right to me too, so I'd say it's the blandest, but at least it's the most lore-accurate.
Lina's is one of my favorite. I spent a lot of time on her feet even if it doesn't seem like it. It's a simpler piece so less oddities, and it just looks so nice to me.
Then midway through Aoi's I switched to Flux, which operates on 1536x1536, and boy does it make some great pieces, but it isn't perfect as even it couldn't make a proper dragon-Aoi. This one is basically NSFW but I couldn't not make it like that because it fits her so well.
With Yunia's I started testing a different Flux model, so the style is quite striking, but the background and carpet were huge pains to get to where they are and they still don't look right.
Then I redid Alissa and Hana with another, more stable model. Now this can make some stunning pieces like with Alissa, but Hana gave me a bit more trouble as monsters and more fantastical elements are an unknown to it. It also can't do feet... a true tragedy, so I had to go back to SDXL for Alissa's.
But after all this work, I need some time from working on the girls. I'm currently doing some basic character design for the Rupegia game: Oath of Piety. Then I'll put them in a logo so there's at least one basic art of the game to reference in the future.
Next, I'd like to do one or two Rupegia landscapes, so I'll let you guys vote on a number of ideas I have.
Finally, once I'm done with all of this, I feel like I'll be ready to come back to the Rupegia girls, but this time I want to do NSFW of them. It'll be slow, though, but maybe if I forgo detailed backgrounds I can cut the time. I also have the most cost-effective GPU for AI generation now (4060TI 16gb), so only if I spend an actual fortune on a better GPU will I be able to make art faster or use an even better model.
