PATREON UPDATE (now charging monthly)

hello everyone. sorry for that disappointing, borderline jumpscare of a headline. i just needed to let you know that, yeah, the buck stops here. starting next month, i am officially going back to charging monthly on patreon.

i feel bad, because earlier this same year i was positively crowing about how this patreon is only charged per project. i was boasting about it in live streams and on the podcast and on Good Morning America, bragging about how smart i was for basically never charging. and as cool as that was, lots has changed in my life in the last few months. positive changes. like, "my brother survived being on life support and now he's sober and works for me so i have to maximize my sources of income to make sure we all get fed" type of changes. 

so yeah, that's the short of it. i have this beautiful patreon with all these amazing supporters and it would be very foolish of me to continue only charging once or twice a year.

now, let's get into how the petal tier is changing...

newsletters take time. not just to write, but to print and hand sign 200+ of them. i just don't have the time to do that every month. and realistically, i don't always have a meaningful life or work update to fill a newsletter for that month either.

so... instead of getting a printed blog post once or twice a year, wouldn't you prefer to get something special every month? something less time consuming for me, and more consistent for you. we've been brainstorming the cutest, flattest things we can send in an envelope and we've come up with some good ones. every month you'll receive one of the following...

• a postcard
• photography print
• sticker (or sticker pack!)
• fridge magnet
• patch
• temporary tattoos
• car air freshener

and if that's not enough to get you to stick around let me just say... it was great having you goodbye.

no but, really, i talked about this a little in the newsletter i just sent out and i want to expand on it a bit here. please do not feel bad about depledging if you simply cannot afford it and do not feel the need to stick around out of some obligation you feel to support me. if you're a longtime patron and want to put your money elsewhere, or a brand new supporter who hasn't even been charged yet, i thank you very sincerely for wanting to support me.
