Q&A: June 24th, 2021

Hey everybody... it was bound to happen, the first Q&A I've failed to post on Wednesday. It's completely my fault for sidelining it, but hopefully, I can make up for it by getting things back on track next week. For now...

Hey Ray, it's been a while! Another music suggestion for ya: Ever listened to Wolf Alice? Highly recommended if you haven't :)

I have not, but don't worry, Spotify/Youtube should make it easy to find and give my thoughts on.

Play any tabletop games?

Funny enough, this came up recently after a family member and I have tried to get into the habit now of playing Chess every morning. However, when it comes to Tabletop, board games with family was as far as I ever went. D&D's something I absolutely want to try with physical dice and people at the table, but it's not possible currently.

I've always envied the flexibility of tabletop, so I'd love to experience it first hand one day.

Not sure if I asked this before. Is it just me, or has a lot of the general gaming community been doing a total 180 to Bioware as if they've done next-to-nothing good instead of the overpraise they once received years ago? Not like the games they put out post ME2 didn't damage the brand here and there.

I'm sure there's people who've done a 180 because it's the popular opinion to have, but I think what's more likely is people who didn't like Bioware to begin with are now able to be involved in the conversation without immediately being shot down. The same thing happened I noticed during The Last of Us 2 controversies.

Lots of people suddenly coming out the woodwork to say "Last of Us 1 was shit and everybody knows it" which is convenient to say half a decade after its release during the moment when the new game's caught up in a firestorm.

So to clarify, I think the people talking against Bioware's old work were people probably didn't care for their work to begin with, and are just now using the opportunity for attention without being argued.

Do you think the dishonored series would make a good topic for one of your videos? Like a years later, or "revisiting dishonored"?

I'd be very much the wrong person to do for instance, a Years Later because I very much didn't care for the original Dishonored. I thought it was a game with an identity crisis, one that couldn't decide if it wanted to be a Thief successor, or go completely in its own direction as a power-based predator, and ended up as an awkward mesh of both.

However, after hearing the praise for its sequel and spin-off, as well as loving the hell out of Prey (2017), perhaps I'll revisit the franchise and give it a fair shake.

If you had your own Wikipedia page; What would be the most interesting fact?

If it hasn't been asked already, given the new promotional information from E3, what do you think of Halo Infinite's potential? I'm cautiously hopeful, but there's a very loud portion of the fan base that thinks 343i has made up for past performance thanks to some cool trailers and fixing broken releases over time.
