What are your favorite movie tie-in games? I think X-Men Origins: Wolverine might be one of the best ones.
The problem for me is that I've not played very many of them come to think of it. So almost by default, I have to go with either King Kong or Goldeneye N64. Probably King Kong as it's a much better adaptation of the material, though granted, Goldeneye was much more limited by technology of the time.

Thoughts on Elden Ring compared to other souls games
I've not played Elden Ring yet, so I can't say. In-fact, I'm still waiting to get around to all the other Souls Like games I've got, but never played.

Unless I've simply missed it, I don't often see you talk about any of the indie darlings that exploded in popularity in the last decade: your Undertales, your Hollow Knights, your Hades-es, etc. Is it from lack of personal interest, being low priority, or something else?
Mostly lack of interest for those games in particular. Undertale I couldn't get into, Hollow Knight I've not played, and same with Hades, though I played both Bastion and Transistor, and both were games I dropped despite loving their presentation.
Youtube very much discourages discussion on smaller scale Indie projects for obvious reasons, but that's not the main thing keeping me away. I've talked about Steam Demos, it can't be. Mostly, it's just I've not played an indie game like that's inspired that type of analysis or discussion from me.
Sidescrollers also aren't my general preference for games. I like them, and there's a couple I love, but they're not a go-to genre.
I'm sure it'll happen someday though.

Any ventures into the Japanese/Anime side of games?
Not many outside of Gran Turismo as a little kid. I'm not opposed to them like I used to be growing up, so things like Valkyria Chronicles are on my to play list.
