Raycevick's Recommendations: The World in a Grain

Now, I can't promise all of its a thrilling page turner. Vince Beiser's writing style isn't completely dry, but when he does make you laugh, it's more to do with the corporate people he encounters throughout this investigation.
But, I'd be confident in saying somebody will find something fascinating in this book. From companies storming the tourist beaches of California to steal its sand, to full on gang wars with kidnappings and murders over it in India, and the appalling rate its used for fracking.
Heavy, but compelling.

My country is definitely relevant in the sand trade; Singapore's been buying sand from her neighbours for land reclamation.
