Raycevick's Recommendations: Gold by Whores
Added 2021-12-13 14:01:02 +0000 UTCYeah, it's fun to write the band's name without context, but I feel like this group was made for me. Edgy, fast-paced, bass & fuzz pedal heavy riffs, with just enough angry vocals to pump you up without sounding like the Cookie Monster.
While the group's classified as Noiserock, I think there's real emphasis on the Rock. The riffs are just superb. The only problem with the band's work so far is while they've got the aggression, it is a little much to listen front to back as there's not much variety. This is something Noiserock bands like HEALTH figured out, and hopefully Whores does too, because their core sound will make you wanna joyride someone's car.
I can similarly recommend their earlier EPs.
