Update: 31/07/2025

Hey everybody!

I've been meaning to write this update for weeks, but kept putting it off as I've been admittedly pushing well beyond my work schedule I discussed in the previous update. Not to the point of sleepless nights on the floor with rendering like I've done in the past, but 7-9 hours instead of 3-5.

The end result as you can see is that most of the project is laid out, but there's still a decent chunk left. I need to add all the music, sound effects, get a music visualizer, add titles, grab an assortment of specific clips/articles/interviews, and most damning of all, confirm the damn ending of this video.

It's not empty, I do have it recorded, and placed, a new conclusion reflecting the cancellation of Perfect Dark that wasn't a factor when I started this project, but I'm still not completely certain about it's quality, and constantly playing with potential rewrites as we speak. For now, I'm editing it as is, and the ending y'all first see on Patreon might not be the one that ends up in the final upload, so I happily invite any feedback on that it's seen.

Mid-July, Mom and I went on a planned trip to Salt Spring Island. I had a wonderful time, and it was honestly reliving to have poor phone service and no convenient Wi-Fi, as it allowed me to completely disconnect and finish a bunch of books in the forest. Though, it's certainly put the pressure on financially, and creatively to wrap this up.

What I know for certain though is that this project which was intended to be scaled down from Rollerdrome has actually scaled up, in-terms of bespoke resources, variety of topics, and research material; whatever the next project may entail, I intend to change my work structure going forward.

Specifically, instead of writing, recording, editing gameplay, then "polishing" with titles, CG, intros, etc, I'm going to frontload the project with those final elements. They're time-consuming with or without assistance, and without, - because it's not my forte like basic editing is - it takes even more time. I've learned from this video that it's better to plan for those things well ahead of schedule rather than treat it like a little bonus.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards my next project being From Russia With Love, specifically, if I can manage to sit down with one of its key Producers, Glen Schofield.

Yes, that Glen Schofield.

Perhaps the reason I kept putting this update off was out of a desire to write something more "substantial", as in-terms of the Patreon, Youtube, and my life, there's not too much to report... and that frustrates me, as I was so determined to complete this video well before my Salt Sprint visit, and that failed.

I'm both sorry to keep y'all waiting, and beyond grateful for your generosity. I was thankfully able to sell some ETF shares I picked up cheap during America's Trade War to help pay my bills, but if it weren't for that + your support, I'd definitely be negative rather than scraping by.

Thank you.
It means more to me than I can put into words.

P.S. Bunny!
