Recommendations: Requiem for a Dream

It's a film to be recommended for it's beautiful craft, great performances, haunting score, and unforgettable journey of its characters. None of these things are specifically to be enjoyed, but moved, which in my case, I think could not be more perfect timing. Had I seen this when I was a Teenager, I would've just kept Leo pointing at the screen whenever "that epic trailer song" keeps playing. Had I seen it when I was in my 20s, I think I would've been judging the characters for their struggles.
But seeing it just a few days after my 31st birthday... having battled my own addictions? Having recovered and then relapsed and repeat? Having waited forever to see Doctors that don't even look me in the eye?
Yeah, it was a perfect time to see this movie.
