What are some core tenets of Battlefield that make the franchise successful and what examples would you give?

Battlefield's magic is unironically what Battlefield 2042 used for marketing. The franchises' success is having a sandbox that allows for absolutely absurdity like leaping out of your own Jet to fire a Rocket Launcher at another jet while falling back into your own Jet but making that the exception rather than the rule.

For the most part, Battlefield is a simple pick up and play military shooter where it's highest skilled events don't obstruct the core-game's enjoyment. It's why I think Battlefield found out with 2042 that more players + more space + more vehicles ≠ a more exciting game.

Because I'm 100 bullet pilled thanks to this little comic series I'm been reading in those passing weeks while traveling, which of the characters, either the minutemen, the trust, one-offs or side characters do you relate with and what's your favorite chapter of the series? Suppose there is a media adaptation of it, who would you like to see the person in charge of directing it? (Update: I just finish the entire series including Brother Lono, recommend me similar comics.)

Congratulations!

I know the feeling all too well, but unfortunately, it's been so god damn long since I read 100 Bullets (15+ years I think) that I couldn't recount to you a favorite chapter. Kinda like I couldn't tell someone my favorite episode of Sopranos until I rewatched the entire show recently.

It certainly deserves better than a cancelled Acclaim PS2 game.

I'm not sure if you answered this before, but considering the quality of the CoD campaigns are at least more up and down than purely down as they were for a while, why would those possible plus not get you a little interested?

I think it's because whenever I hear that "Oh the Campaign is actually good this year" it's not exciting. I'll get around to MW2, Cold War, and BO6 eventually, but I'm not in a rush because ultimately, I've played 12+ COD Campaign's since I was born, and having another good one for the pile is nice but not a heart stopper.

This is one of the problems of ubiquity, it hurts any game regardless of its individual quality.

Though considering that I intend to playthrough some COD Campaign's whereas I have no intention with CE Remake, perhaps I'm not quite as apathetic to COD as I thought...

Long-arm questions incoming: 1) What's your thoughts on Volition's The Punisher video game? As a Payne "clone" minus bullet-time, it has an interesting spot; an gritty setting that's based off elements of the comics and the 2004 tie-in movie at the time; a persona that's essentially edgier Max Payne and Shadow The Hedgehog had a baby; has the involvement of Garth Ennis (who wrote most of The Punisher series around the 2000s and yes, this is the same writer who wrote The Boys) and Thomas Jane (who was also the actor of that character in the 2004 movie); was controversial due to the graphical violence similar to what got Manhunt on the spotlight; and was released a year before they went on to make Saint Row 1. I guess to quote from your video: "do these elements improve the gameplay?" 2) While listening through The Downward Spiral for the first time, I also went ahead and read through it's development and controversies it has attracted. That got me thinking: what attracts you to music albums that embraces it's uncomfortable subject matter either from the music's theme or behind the scenes dramas that was going on in production or even the media's preconceived notion itself? 3) While I do agree with your talking point about the needless reason for an Halo trilogy remake, you also mentioned in the past about what your expectation about the Max Payne "remakes" that could prove to be compelling. Is there a line to be drawn on needing a remake for various of reasons (even if you aren't in the camp)?
