Recommendaitons: Nimona
Added 2024-02-05 19:28:45 +0000 UTCI'd been meaning to watch Nimona for months, ever since I stumbled upon its thumbnail on Netflix, and its recent nominations for best Animated film were the latest reminder...
And now wish I hadn't waited, because this was one of the most flat out fun movies I've watched in sometime, while having enough heart to be genuinely moving, to the point where both the friend I watched with and myself were being reminded of The Iron Giant.
It doesn't reach that films heights, but then again, only a few movies do, so the comparison itself is a compliment. Everything from the animation, to the pacing, soundtrack, voice-acting, and editing, are just so endearing, it's hard to imagine not watching this film with a smile.
If you've missed the heart of something like Iron Giant, or Avatar: The Last Airbender, Nimona might just be what you're looking for.
