parallel earth
Added 2024-02-01 07:53:39 +0000 UTCi'm sorry that i've been absent online and away from the discord. i've been admittedly going through... a lot. but here i am right on schedule to say thank you, share some thoughts, share some art, and be on my way again.
i won't get too into how i've been feeling both because it's personal and i genuinely don't want to talk about anything that could be triggering to anyone. but recently i had some experiences that seems to have opened up a lot of heavy wounds from my childhood. since then i've been trying to be as proactive as possible. finding the courage to talk to billie and brooke really helped me, and tomorrow morning i have my first session with a brand new therapist to begin tackling childhood trauma along with a handful of other issues that i've been quietly struggling with. neal (my wonderful agoraphobia counselor for the last decade) is encouraging me to look at this as a breakthrough, and is hopeful that i'll gain a deeper sense of recovery from confronting it. so in a way i'm excited, albeit more than a bit miserable at the moment.
on a (much) lighter note... january's petal tier goodie is very cool. it took a bit to get them all sent out, so you probably haven't received it yet, but you might have seen brooke posting about it in the discord. take a look at this...

it's an "i exist i exist i exist" temporary tattoo! please ignore that it's ever so slightly peeling in the pic, we took it a day or so after she applied it. i honestly think it looks so cute. and it's in my handwriting, which i normally hate, but i think it really works here. the entire thank you letter that comes along with it is also in my handwriting now that i think of it. maybe i love my handwriting now.
what will next months goodie be? i'm gonna be honest, i just don't know yet. most of the time i'm working on it / ordering the thing as fast as i can right after making this post. that kind of makes it fun, though. can i think of yet another flat object to send as a letter? will the company even deliver it in time? the whole ordeal really keeps me on my toes.
finally, i've attached a ten minute instrumental that i did recently titled "parallel earth". i love it so so much, i hope you like it too. i actually listened to it while writing all this. i listen to a lot of my instrumental work when i'm doing any kind of meaningful writing. a poem, a blogpost, whatever. it feels like i'm channeling myself on a deeper level when i hear it playing. it's nice.
thank you tremendously for your support,
