Christmas and probability trigs

My plan was to work on Noise Commander a few days prior to christmas but alas a major family matter happened that needed frequent attention.

Instead of doing the work, I instead would often brainstorm about Noise Commander features when I could not sleep. It's something I always do, but now especially.

I am happy to report that nevertheless I did manage to implement probability-trigs as known from other sequencers. If you are a paid member and have the installer, you can try the latest "temp"-version of v0.0.10 right now.

It's a new column labelled as "%".

There is an additional percentage for the entire track as well, like on the Model:Cycles or the Roland D2. I also plan to add a percentage value that is per-bus. An example scenario could be to control the drum-probability separate from the rest.

The good news is that I still have a couple days of vacation left.

This Patreon- and Youtube experiment is now one year old. The project itself has been ongoing for almost two years.

My dream of crowd-funding the development through social-media did not come true - yet.

It's probably too niche. The groovebox/audio/sequencer market is not that big to begin with and I narrowed it to only those who also own a Nintento 3DS.

The app is also simply not good enough. I'm working on that.

Thanks to you paid Patreon members. I was thinking of pausing Patreon (the holiday mode where you are not billed) several times because I feel that I am not giving enough in return. When Patreon is paused then no new members can join however which stopped me from doing it.

If you joined and forgot about it, feel free to cancel now.

A special shout out to Stranger Danger and Zero the Prototype for being the most generous supporters.

Now that we're accurately depressed, let's look at the bright side. I got a huge list of feature ideas and improvements and am excited of the future versions of Noise Commander. I don't plan to stop or give up any time soon. I may make fewer youtube videos in favor of development progress in the coming months however. I don't really know.

I ordered an USB-infrared sensor to try transmitting a midi-clock between the 3DS and a computer, I hope that will work out! This would have less latency than WiFi and not require a router. I believe it will be delivered tomorrow and will let you know how it goes.

This idea came from Impbox. There is a bit of a story to that:

I found a chat-room where there are several more people working on similar projects to mine!
Impbox is one of them, his app is an FM-synth and sequencer for the Nintendo DS! He has not made it public yet but he shared a few videos. It looks and sounds great.

I also bought some new old (used) gear during the last couple of weeks:

Looking forward to do combined jams with Noise Commander and these :)

Al right, I will stop here. Have a happy new year's eve and see you on the other side!
