i like these episodes; the office does this sometimes...there's episodes that feel so much like "The Office"TM but then there's other's that are mixed in that have a more serious tone, where it isn't all "ha-ha" funny moments throughout and i appreciate it. a lot of reactors go into those episodes and get disappointed because they expect it to be something it's not. but i think going into it you have a good understanding of what the show is and what it tries to do.
i love the jim + pam + dwight stuff. at the heart of it, they are friends. it's why jim smiled when dwight knocked his stuff off the desk. he's "back" and they can go back to driving each other crazy and knowing it doesn't come from a place of maliciousness. i love their friendship so much! and pam and dwight's soft spot for each other is just everything to me

The first episode is a fascinating look at what Michaels life could be. He is well liked and popular among his colleagues at his call centre job just by being himself. But he can't make that work while being the boss himself, he comes across too desperate and try hard. Michael is a sweet guy people get on with, he just can't separate work and real life.
