Camilla

And it's finally finished!

It was definitely a different type of drawing for me, with so many small things on the scene. But I have to say it was really worth to take the time to do each.

I wanted to give that idea that she just took the heavy part of her armor off, and sat to enjoy a glass of wine and a book. The color was going to be a lot less "vibrant" at first but then I though "ah what the hell" and made a more colorfull image and I couldn't be happier with the result =D

I also resisted the urge to change her face (lol) and kept it as close as possible to her "anime face" while still making sure it fitted the rest of the image.

So it was really cool to work on this image, and I hope you guys liked the result for Camilla, after sooooo many polls coming in 3rd lol.

I'm currently checking a few art prints websites to see which one has the best quality at a reasonable pricing. When I finish the process, I'll put most of my drawings there!

Lee

That's great to hear! The full version is really cool. There's a lot of detail in the background =)

Legs crossed are my special power =D

Lee

Already set this as my desktop background. Looking forward to the higher resolution ones to better appreciate all the little details!

I love her legs! >w

Thank you for taking your time to write such commentary =D It was really interesting to do this drawing because I knew what I wanted to do with her, but wasn't sure how to execute it. Usually I have a good idea of what the end image is going to be, but for this one, I wasn't quite sure. Most of it, is related to the colors of the image. I didn't know if it was going to be a brighter image, a darker, what type of color was going to be on it. So after I finished her, I started to work on the elements in the back. I already had them sketched out, but it wasn't quite there yet. It all seemed a little "loose". So I kept re-arranging them, added a few more, removed one or another until "it worked". Then on coloring, I started with her, since I knew what her color palette would be like, and from that I worked on the background in a way that complemented her colors, but without being too monochromatic. And the contrast between orange and purple tones worked better than I thought lol. So yeah, it was a really cool image to work at, I took an extra day or two to make sure all the details were there and no part seemed lacking. So I'm really happy with the result =D

Lee

Thanks! This is actually a problem for me, because I wanted to do a new drawing of her at some point, but have no idea how to make a better one lol

Lee

Thanks! I really liked the result of the colors as well =D

Lee

Thanks! I wanted to make sure everything was as good as it could =D

Lee

thank you!

Lee

I needed a new one to the mix as well =D

Ah... it's been a long time coming and at last I get to see it, I get to see your version of Camilla and I have to say... you do not disappoint! πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘ It's hard to know where to begin but since you bring it up in your description (and I usually talk about background then colour first anyway), I have to say that I adore the overall colours in this piece, they're so beautiful and vibrant! Something I especially like is how the wall towards the right has this warm orange look to it with the background transitioning towards being purple on the left, the contrast between the two sides is very striking. It's also great in that the billowing curtains on the right side as well as the purple attire scattered around really pop against the warm tones, while Camilla's skin pops out against the purple background on her side. Other things about the background that stand out are the textures of the wall and it's stonework, as well as the engravings in her throne which look so very impressive. The transparent texture on that curtain is fantastic too, as are the rays of light that shine in underneath it, even with their own little floating particles which are a brilliant detail! All of the items scattered around the room have so much love and care put into them too, like the wine glass with the engravings in the metal and how the table has slight chipping in the corner wood. The plane changes for the curving legs on the right table look so great too, as do the folds in the purple fabric hanging off the edge of the table, the crinkling of her glove nd the plane changes and textures for the various pieces of armour laying around. The golden piece beneath her left foot, next to the throne is especially striking with the shining texture and the hints of purple tone in the gold. The level of work and detail that you put into this is staggering! Oh and I didn't even mention how I like the cool tone that we see through the window contrasting against the warm orange, with the area of the wall around the window being the brightest with that warm glow slowly transitioning towards those darker purple tones. And now for Camilla herself.... oh boy, I have been so excited to see her πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ I very much appreciate that you wanted to stick as closely as possible to her original anime face, the shape of her visible eye reflects this very well with the shape of the upper lid and how it angles down, just like the anime Camilla eye 😸. She looks so beautiful too, you did an amazing job on her features and her expression, it really gives the impression of her just relaxing with her wine and book, only to notice the viewer walking in and giving this warm, friendly smile that is unbelievably endearing 😻😻😻😻😻 (seriously, I can't praise the face enough!). The rendering of all of her skin, including her face, is so beautifully done too, the smooth blending of light and dark tones defines her features and forms so well and gives her such a gorgeous and soft look. The light that shines onto the centre of her face with soft shadow tones around the edges on her cheeks, jaw and chin look fantastic. The forms of her breasts as her corset pushes them up are excellent too with the shadow and hard edge on the inside of her right breast making it pop against the brighter inside of her left breast. And the light tones of her upper right thigh with the soft, smooth gradient towards the warm shadows on her bum and under her thighs is all just so appealing. And of course one of the very important aspects of Camilla's looks is her hair and you just nailed it! The shapes and how they twist, meander, curl and overlap as they fall around her are so intricate with so much detail. And a little detail that I adore is in the large mass of hair that covers her eye and how you had one extra strand break off towards her nose, something about that is just extra cute to me. The colour is marvellous and the rendering of her hair and all of it's details is incredibly impressive. I hope you don't mind how long this comment is running on for πŸ˜…, but I've been so hyped for so long to see you paint Camilla and I just have to try to show my appreciation and the only way I know how is by going over as many details as I feasibly can πŸ˜…. Speaking of which, the textures for her glove and stockings are very nice, I'm not sure how to describe it but there's this gorgeous painterly look along the folds in her stockings and running down that shadow that defines the centre of her calves. I also love the rim-light running down her right calf that makes it pop further against the background while also accentuating the shape of her leg. The golden trims on her glove and stockings also have a great shine to them and wrap over the shapes of her body so very well. Once again, I am so very impressed with this painting! I can honestly say that it is among my favourites of yours! There's this beautiful warm and vibrant feeling to the surroundings, the colours are gorgeous and contrast so well, while Camilla is just breathtaking... If I seriously walked in on this sight in reality, I may well go into cardiac arrest from how overwhelming it would all look πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ. Well done on this masterpiece! πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ‘
