This image had a lot of "parts" on top of having 2 versions, so there was a lot to keep in mind. It was definitely an interesting challenge =o
I also really liked the idea of combining the blue/green cushion with the wooden textures from her Jade Chamber. I also made her expression a little more "sexy" because I think it's fitting for the chracter, since she has such a dominant attitude =D
Anyway, hope you guys like it!

Thank you! I probably spent more time than I should on this one. Her hair alone took something like 1-2h lol. In this type of image, usually the background tends to eat up a lot of time, but for some reason it was relatively easy to do this background. I think I spent more time on the fine detailing (like the patterns on the curtain and whatnot) than on the actuall pillows and couch. About her, I absolutely love her body language, how she's leaning a bit to the side, like as if she was initially entertained by the little geo shards on her hand, then slowly looked to the viewer. I think this kind of angle convey a lot of "sexyness" and power to the character. Like she's mildly interested on the viewer, but not enough to give full attention yet =D And on a final note, I really loved her soft and light skin with the vivid red eyes/nails =D

2021-03-27 16:57:45 +0000 UTCAh, I had wondering how the background was going to look in this piece and wow, it is very cool! Like seriously, with all of this green, blue and the white from Ningguang herself, with only small splashes of warmth from some brown furniture, the window and pieces of gold here and there, the cool tones look really nice! ๐๐ The background textures and rendering are as terrific as always, with something I really like being the transparency at the edges of the green curtains where the light hits them strongest. The contrast then with this warmer, glowing green against the cooler, blue-tinted green in the top left of the painting is lovely. The blue sofa too looks terrific, particularly with the brighter sections on the top planes, being quite warmly lit. The curtains, sofa and cushions all have gorgeous textures and shapes, you've done a fantastic job on all of them! And of course, the hints of wooden furniture are always fun to see as I do love how you render wood and all the little patterns and details within in. Ningguang herself is really beautiful, white hair is always a treat to see and with the way you've rendered it, it has this subtle silver shine that is very nice. The level of detail is fantastic as always and I love how it moves, swirling around the hairpiece behind her head, as well as falling over her right shoulder. And of course, the golden edge-lighting is a great contrast while also accentuating that area of hair very well. The clothes look marvellous too with the golden trims and adornments on her neck, breasts and fingers having a lovely shine. I also like the cool grey-ish blue tint to the white of her dress, as well as the texture of the material and the folds between her breasts. The warm brown of the gloves also pop very well and the lighting complements each arm in different ways, with a softer, larger warm light over her right hand and then thinner, sharper edge-lighting on her left one. I really do love that texture on her right hand and how the warm light blends back into the darker tones, still being an eye-catching contrast. The skin tones look beautiful too, I adore the overall pale look she has, which is highlighted very nicely by the warm lighting on her legs and shoulder. I love how those warm lights blend so smoothly back into the cooler tones, contrasting very well with them and accentuating the shapes of those areas so very well. The legs are beautifully rendered with terrific textures on the raised knee and running down the calf, same with the plane changes and overlaps on the lower leg where the ankle meets the foot. And her face! Oh her face is just perfect ๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป Again, the soft, pale skin tones are divine, especially with the vibrant reds of her eyes and lips looking so distinct against them. I love how all the reds shine too, with her lips looking so luscious, the thin edge-lighting on the nose too also pops very well and is a nice bit of contrast against all of the cool tones. (Also her very subtle smile is gorgeous) Wonderful work on this piece! It may have taken you longer than you thought it would, but it was definitely worth it! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
