Kida

"You do swim, do you not?"

hey everyone, it's finished!

Had a lot of fun with this one, specially with the colors and setup of the scene. Did my best to give her a "disney look" and keep the idea of the background and mix the original style with mine.

I have to say I'm quite happy wit hthe result, so I hope you guys like it!

One of my fav works of yours ! ;-D

Call_me_Snake

Same, I received no notification. Lol. I love this piece

Great work! Just in this image the face and whole posture does not feel so lively, too perfect, more statuish. The watter dropplets on her body are full of live. Just my feelings ;)

MikiTurle

when I had issues with that, it was an error on patreon's end. Apparently due to some system error my e-mail got flagged as "don't send notifications" , so I wasn't getting any notifications from messages, just the system ones (new patreons, their email marketing stuff etc).

Lee

Just did a double-check and all forms of notification are selected, so I don't know what's up with that. Not a super huge deal either way, it's just odd.

Jazzpha

that's really odd, it's worth checking with patreon if they changed anything in terms of the notifications you receive, because it might be affecting other creators you are patreon as well. About the image, thank you! It's cool and tricky at the same time to work on those images that have very similar tones across the scene. But it's always great when it works out =D

Lee

thank you!

Lee

Didn't get a notification for this either, so apologies for the delay in commenting. Amazing detail work as always, and I'm really impressed by the way you managed to differentiate between the various shades of blue so well; they all feel distinct and not super-saturated despite how 'blue' the picture is on the whole. Nicely done!

Jazzpha

So gorgeous 😍

Sarah

that's odd. It's something worth checking on patreon settings or even getting in touch with their support. An year or so ago I had issues where I wasn't receiving many notifications from patreon because there was a conflict between my e-mail and their notification system, so I was only receiving some of their messages. And about the image, I think it's just natural evolution of the techniques. I'm likely doing skin shading faster, so I might be spending more time in the small details. But it's tricky for me to pinpoint because not every image take the same amount of time on each area.

Lee

thank you!

Lee

thank you! I thought it would help sell the image better with it =D

Lee

Same for me. I got an email for the Kida preview but not this one. Odd.

El Fuego

For some reason your page doesn't send email notifications anymore. Made me miss Starfire and had to leave comment late, almost missed this one too. I gotta say, there's something about your latest artworks that feels very updated and cleaner. I couldn't say what it is specifically. Must be a new way of doing skin textures and so on? IDK but I freaking love it. Her body looks gorgeous and I love how the nighttime lights reflect off her skin! Those thighs and stomach look so smooth and sexy! Also I see you really love playing around with water/wet effects lately and it always comes out so great! More of that please!

Arch

Agree about the colors, they rock!

natty bob

She's gorgeous! And great work on the water beading off her body and showing that dynamic movement in a still image. Well done! 😍

Ghost

Thanks! I didn't want to make the sky too dark and risk making the image overall too dark and loose a lot of details, so I opted for a more of "twilight/dusk" lightning. One thing that's cool about disney princess and overall disney style is that is so expressive, so it's always cool to try to recreate those scenes =D Also, the color palette of this image in particular is great, it has a lot of blues, dark skin contrast, and her white hair gives a beautifull contrast. I'm really happy with the result on this one =D

Lee

thank you! I'm glad you liked them =D

Lee

thank you!

Lee

that's really cool =o

Lee

yeah, there are a few of these movies that were made in the transition from traditional animation and cgi, that are kinda in a limbo of visibility.

Lee

thank you!

Oh I have a strong personal bias for scenes like this! I love the darkened sky, darkest at the top and subtly growing brighter towards the bottom with a gorgeous texture to it. I really like how the blue of the sky and water are broken up and divided by the stonework and greenery, which themselves have really well done textures and rendering, I particularly like how the green mossiness blends into the grey stone. The water too is so well done with its rippling surface and the foam around where Kidas legs enter it. I also like how the stone casts shadows across the water, framing the brighter section where Kida stands and the subtle detail of Kidas warm skin reflected in the water is a great touch. Kida herself looks amazing, with her darkened skin tones really standing out so strongly against this cool-toned scene. Her own white hair, grey-blue eyes and blue jewel and bikini then contrast really well with herself. I love the pose as she stands at an angle that shows off the curving contours of her back and hips/thighs, as well as the sense of motion as she turns her head, with her hair draping over her shoulder as she moves and raises her arms. The rendering on her is fantastic and I'm in love with her silver hair, tinted blue by her surroundings and all having a gorgeous shine and great level of detail (also looks so cute and sexy with that one strand falling between her eyes) Her clothes are really nice too with those crossing, rippling folds through her bra that also tighten up in places which is a really nice touch. All of the textures of the clothes are very nice and I especially like the material running over her hips as it twists and overlaps itself, with a smooth, subtle shine to it. Kidas skin tones look terrific and have a gorgeous texture, with very nice, subtle blending of tones to define her features. Keeping more subtle lighting on her overall means that those brighter lines of light running through her arm and legs can really stand out, adding to the wet shine on her and really accentuating the shapes of her body. Her face is just so captivating too! Those cool-toned eyes really draw my attention and I adore how expressive her face is with the movements of the eyebrows, shapes of the eyes and that lovely smile, with the whites of the teeth also standing out against the warmer tones. I love the subtle blue lighting mixed into the face as well for even more contrast and it works so well to add even more definition to her features. And the textures of the area around her eyes and the plane changes between them and her nose and cheeks look fantastic, I love her nose with its shine spot, as well as her beautiful lips with their own luscious shine. Absolutely fantastic work here! The atmosphere is so beautiful, Kida stands out very distinctly and the way that she and her environment are rendered are just so stunning, with Kida herself looking absolutely beautiful! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Disney princesses in Krys's art style are always a mesmerizing sight. Incredibly beautiful as always!

SnakeEyes

Great work as always on body shape and proportion.

I sat on the foley stage and watched while they performed foley for Atlantis. It was cool, and my first in person experience with the foley process.

Iquitous

Atlantis is just an underrated Disney film. I think it just came out at a bad time when the Disney Renaissance just ended and people wanted more Pixar style animated movies.

Amazing!! πŸ’™πŸ’™
