Added 2019-07-18 23:27:58 +0000 UTCHey everyone, here's the finished version of Rogue! From the moment I settled in the "savage lands" version I was inspired by Frank Frazetta's artwork. I wanted to get that "painterly" look on the background, with colors that gave that "jungle swamp" look.
It's something I've been really enjoying is to learn how to paint backgrounds directly in color and play with the color mixing and texturing of it.
So I hope you guys like it!

I think it was more interestings to have those brush strokes of colors, going from the water to the "muddy" foliage and then the actual background instead of having everything clear cut and divided. I think it adds to the imersion of the scene. And it was a body type that I thought it was fitting the character. That slim/fit build that is very athletic =)

I wasn't 100% happy with the background of that image, so it was definitely something I wanted to get it better this time around. As much as I prefer to paint bodies in greyscale and then color it, for backgrounds it doesn't work all the times. And forests are definitely something that is better to do directly on color, which was something I wasn't really good at back then. Not that I mastered right now, but I definitely knows better lol

All of the colours are so beautiful and vibrant, the textures throughout the background are gorgeous too and I love painterly style of it all. The hanging foliage and mixture of colours in the water are all excellent. And Rogue herself is an utter masterpiece! The lighting across her face is so very striking and the textures across her skin and definition of her anatomy are amazing. The wet/dirty tones on certain parts of her skin are an especially amazing attention to detail. Truly brilliant work on this piece! 👏👏👏👏👏
