Psylocke

Hey everyone, here's the finished version of Psylocke posing for Colossus!

When people mentioned that this scene actually happened, I thought it would be a fitting idea for the image of Psylocke. I always love to re-imagine those iconic scenes of comic book characters. Not only I think it's a nice homage to the scene, but also something slight different than usual.

I tried to be as faithfull as possible to the background of the original scene, and I have to say it was definitely interesting to make Colossus.

Hope you guys like it!

Thank you! I'm working a lot on improving my lightning in the past images,so it might be related to that!

Lee

Oh yeah there is =D

Lee

Wow! I'm not an artist and I don't know what you did but you gave it some kind of cinematic feel to it! I love it!

Arch

Sweet and sexy! Will there be a version without the towel, too?

Didi & Nok' Tus

Some ass =D

Lee

thank you! It's definitely tricky to get some interest in the background considering they don't have a lot of details. So it had to be with a little color =D

Lee

This is great! But now I'm curious to see what Colossus is painting ;)

ViperCG

The skin and the light in this, just perfect. The way you put the purple into the background. Really digging this!

It's not a problem at all! It's something that usually happens when you remove all of the outfit from the image. At the end of the day she's just a "girl with purple hair". There's not much that's unique to her body in terms of visual, like Rogue has the white streak of hair, and things like that. It's a similar issue when I make some warcraft characters out of their clothes and gear. If they are not present in any way in the scene, they pretty much look like any other character lol.

Beautiful painting Krys. It's a great pose and a great scene. Though to be honest not being familiar with Psylocke, if it wasn't for Colossus I wouldn't even know it was an X-man character πŸ€”, so it great you included him. No fault of yours of course but more of my lack of knowledge. πŸ€ͺ Thanks again Krys.

Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it. I had a few issues with the image to make the lightning consistent. It might be a place here and there that's a little off but I think overall the lightning works. Also I'm particularly happy with how her face, hair and anatomy worked out. It's a shame that the sfw version hides the belly/chest area lol. While her hair is different from the original image, I kept the "S shaped" curls dropping from the front. Folds, clothing and fabric is a bit of love and hate experience. It's REALLY annoying to figure out all the folds and intricates of shadows that make it look believable and give proper direction to them in a way that makes sense. But the end result is really great, so it make all worth it. There's also an interesting detail is that I usually see people using soft brushes to make cloth, but I actually prefer to use sharp/solid ones. Simply because there's a lot of "dents" and wrinkles in bed sheets. So it gives them more "cloth texture" or so to speak. And Colossus was really cool to make as well. Shame that with the ambient light from the window he lost a bit of the contrast he originally had =3

Lee

Me to! Until I have to draw the sheets lol. It's a nightmare to figure out the folds. But then I like the result at the end so it's all good =D

Lee

thank you!

Oh I am absolutely 100% in love with this! 😻😻😻😻😻 The colours are simply gorgeous and I love the gradients and contrasts throughout, such as the red and orange curtains surrounded by the cool tones of the ceiling/wall and the bedsheets in the foreground, while the wall and ceiling feature a warm tint at the edges that transitions into the cooler tones, also creating a lovely warm to cool contrast. With Psylocke herself, the cool purple hair and pale eyes also pop so nicely against her skin, as does the white sheet pressed against her warm and sensual body. And of course Colossus' cold steel texture and the wooden board he's holding also stand out strongly against the cool tones. What's great is that most of the warmth is concentrated in the right side of the image, with Psylocke herself situated at the centre of all of the cool tones, so she really pops and stands out against it all, although she's not in the middle of the image, she's definitely still central to it (if that makes sense 😹) As for the rendering of the background, I mentioned in the WIP post that I was really looking forward to seeing all of the sheets and folds and hoooo boy, I am not disappointed! I especially love the red curtains with the striking bright orange light shining onto them and really making those rippling plane changes pop. While the bedsheets look fantastic too, especially nice with how the foreground is bathed in shadow with the side planes having a strong contrast with the sunlight shining in on them. And Colossus looks great too with his incredibly shiny metallic texture, I also like how you did his hair and how the plane changes there look. And as for the lovely subject herself, Psylocke looks utterly mesmerising! I already mentioned your great use of colour to really make her look striking, the lighting also creates wonderful contrasts across her body that make her very appealing to look at, such as the strong divides in light and shadow that run down her raised arm, as well s both of her legs, particularly the lowered leg. And the overall shift in light and dark, with her chest, breasts and left arm being most warm light looks gorgeous and I do like the more subtle light and dark divide in her face too. The hair is exquisitely detailed and a really beautiful shade of purple that makes me very happy! πŸ’œπŸ’œ I adore her pale eyes and the shines on her nose and lips are very appealing. Her anatomy and skin texture really do look fantastic, the details in her neck, the way her pec wraps up over her right shoulder, the concave dip in her chest because of her shoulders coming forward, the shapes of her breasts and knees in their different stages of bending all look fantastic! And the rim-lighting along her face, arm, breast and leg make her pop even more. I also mentioned this in the WIP, but now that she's fully painted and coloured, the way we see her right waist and hip push out from behind the sheet while her front is still teased is just so damned sensual, appealing and teasing and I love it! I have to stop myself, I'm rambling and I still haven't even mentioned everything I like! (I'm writing this shortly after waking up so I'm also a bit all over the place πŸ˜…) Suffice to say, I think this is one of my favourite paintings of yours, the colours, lighting and textures are just all so perfect! Absolutely amazing work and I definitely look forward to getting the full resolution version. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
