Jill Valentine

Hey everyone, Miss "something" Valentine is finished!

I did my best to be as faithfull as possible to the setting and the ingame model of her. So it was really interesting to get her face right. Which btw, they did a phenomenal job with her ingame model. The expressions and acting is insane!

And well, it was a really interesting exercise in perspective to lol.

Similar to what I did with Ada in the past, I wanted to have Jill having a moment to breath before everything goes ape shit =D

Hope you guys like it!

Jill Valentine

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I think it's important to make more interesting scenes to invest more time in lightning and how it affects the scene. It's a great practice =)

Lee

I've noticed you put so much attention to lighting in recent months. Such astonishing amount of detail! Love it!

Arch

this was actually easier and harder at the same time lol it was easier because I knew exactly what it should look like, and a bit harder because I didn't have a lot of room to change stuff, otherwise it wouldn't look like her lol

Lee

It’s certainly interesting for you to have a completely photorealistic face to work with, cause usually you have to tweak things because of somethings art style(be it a game or a comic).

Matthew Richson

I did, specially making sure the lightning and her skin texture worked out =D

Lee

Well, in general, it looks amazing, and you did a good job on her face. Probably you really enjoyed creating it!

thank you! I think they did a pretty good job on both games to bring out that "old messy 90s city". Even Jill's apartment on the game is quite .... "raw" in terms of texture. Exposed bricks, eletrical cables going about. The inside of the buildings are never "cozy homes". I actually did get inside the buildings in the game (that you can do that, of course) and took a lot of screenshots to get the ideas for details. Also I really liked how the neon signs bring color and life to the city, so I wanted to use it as a source of color as well to bring the image to life. And there's one thing that I'm loving about the new games they created in the past years, like this one, RE2, Tomb raider games etc is how they are making practical yet sexy outfits. There's really no need for tiny skirts/shorts and huge cleavages in my opinion. A tight tanktop does wonders in terms of being practical and still showing some curves. I did switch to the original outfit ingame, but switched back to the remake and hake that "drake meme" moment. And well, they did a phenomenal job with Jill's model. It's probably one of the most lifelike models I've seen in games yet. It's been years since the gaming industry can make realistic models, but it was one of the first times I actually saw it and said "ok, that's a REAL PERSON expression". It's simply amazing how they captured the subtle facial details of eyes tracking things, how the mouth shifts and changes pose based on what the character saw. There are even some lip bites and "phew" expressions It really is amazing.

Lee

Thanks! It was really tricky to get the face right. She has a very unique facial feature, that's a "strong" face, but still sexy. Well, considering the rumors are pointing that RE8 will be Claire, Leon and Jill (hence why they remade those specific games), it might not be that far =D

Lee

why thank you! I thought it if should include more stuff on the background, but I didn't want to derail too much lol

Lee

thanks!

Lee

Great job with the face on this one, it a great match to her game model. Love the perspective of this one as well. Think it might be a good idea to put Claire on a few polls to try to complete the trinity πŸ˜†. Great job with this one Krys! Thanks again.

Damn friend you sure don't pull any punches when it comes to making awesome stuff! Outstanding as always friend!! 😁😁

Oh I have been very excited to see this painting. Especially since finishing the game and really coming to enjoy Jill's characterisation there. (Jill is now my 2nd favourite RE character thanks to the REmake! 1st is Leon, it's going to take a lot to beat how he absurdly cool he is in RE4 πŸ˜‚) Something I immediately love about this painting is all of the texture to it. The blue/grey wall, the bricks and wood in the surroundings all look fantastic and full of detail. The exterior with the bright neon sign is so very well done too, especially how the light seems to tint the immediate area inside Jill's room, adding a cool tinge to the warm toned bricks. As always, the environment here is jam packed full of impressive detail! Jill herself looks absolutely fantastic too and so full of detail and texture. The wrap on her elbow as well as her gloves look great with their rough, worn look and I really like all of the little detail shown in her right glove. The little dip in her white vest where it folds forward is an excellent little touch and I love how her blue vest sinks between the breasts with folds spreading out from that central dip. All of the folds running across her midsection too look great and I like how the vest pulls up slightly, as if peeling up her body to reveal a hint of her waist, that sliver of warm skin colour is a nice divide between her blue top and blue jeans. Seeking of which, again the jeans have an excellent sense of texture to them, especially around the pelvis where folds and creases spread across her open hips, I also love her raised calf with a clear divide in light and shadow running down. Her boot too is terrific with the bright, pale rim-light running down it, strongly contrasting with the black surface and really accentuating the shapes and crinkles in it. Jill's hair is gorgeous too, I love the shine running through where the hair parts, while the pale rim-lighting is a lovely contrast to the warm brown. Similarly, the bright lighting down her face and right arm goes so nicely with her skin, also accentuating her features and anatomy, her arm looks especially striking with how strong the contrasts are. And her face is so well painted too with beautifully defined features and skin tones, you did a brilliant job on making her look so real and lifelike! Looking at this painting makes me want to play RE3 again 😹 Magnificent work! Definitely looking forward to seeing the other versions as well as her second painting πŸ˜‰
