Oh wow, the mood, atmosphere and colours in this painting are terrific! The warm tones of Daphne's red hair and skin, as well as the Scooby teddy, all pop so well against the cool coloured background. And I really like the background in general, there's such a tremendous amount of detail and texture with the droplets running down the window, the rippling, crinkling folds of the curtain as well as the sofa with it's textures and parts of it sinking down as Daphne presses into it. The texture of the curtain is great too and I really like how it's transparent near the window, with the moody night sky, rain and flash of lightning giving a great atmosphere. And with the textures in this piece being so good, I can actually imagine just how the curtain, sofa and Scooby teddy would feel to touch. Oh and I just noticed the shiny, reflective surface of the mug in her hand which is very nice, as well as the separation between the pages of her book. And as for the lovely lady herself, her hair is just gorgeous! The way it falls with the light and shadow rippling over the cascading, meandering strands is terrific, with the bright, cool-toned rim lights giving a striking contrast. Her face is beautiful and I love the expression with her wide eyes and parted lips, the rendering of the nose is adorable and her blue eyes are lovely too. And across her body, I really like the contrast with bright, white rim lighting on her arm and leg/feet that pops both against her skin as well as the warmer rim light on her nose and raised arm. The rendering and anatomy is as amazing as always and especially like her left leg with that striking bright lighting running through it, her feet too are exceptionally well painted with all of the little details and plane changes that are really accentuated by that bright lighting (her right hand too is terrific in the same kind of way) And lastly, her clothes look gorgeous too, the bra part has a wonderful pattern and the transparency is a lovely tease, the skirt is especially great with the bright lighting on it and the rippling plane changes and rendering of the under parts. Really beautiful work on this one! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Absolutely love the colours, lighting and amazing atmosphere and moody lighting.
