it was really tricky to make the idea work but I have to say I'm really happy with the result!
I really loved how she's basically a "cat" being lazy and doing things only if absolutely necessary lol. Definitely had a lot of fun with this one =D

You know, I was actually thinking of commissioning my WoW elf mage doing something like this some day. Only mine would've had her holding a glass of wine in one hand and an open book in the other; while a refreshment table floats nearby. I hadn't thought of the idea of her using magic to turn the pages, or her drink being magically poured like that.

2020-10-29 16:19:24 +0000 UTCwhy thank you! I've been wanting to draw a cozy/fantasy/wizard themed image for quite some time now, so she was the perfect fit. I really liked her behavior and her voicelines/story. I mean, she's basically a big lazy cat in terms of mood and actions lol. Also it's quite interesting to use this type of lightning to define the shapes and planes. One thing that was a good practice was to make anime styled faces into my own. So I got a lot of references from master Artgerm since he has a great style in making both anime characters and western ones as well. But I'm definitely happy with the result =D

2020-10-29 15:21:29 +0000 UTCOh this is just as beautiful as I'd hoped that it would be! π»π»π»π»π» I absolutely adore the lighting/colours here, with Lisa and the sofa being bathed in a warm glow from those shining bright windows, with an overall warm and cosy atmosphere from the colours of the sofa, the book-case and Lisa's own skin tones with some blues and purples littered throughout for a cool contrast. I particularly like how the lighting affects the sofa with a line of light along the top, shadows beneath, light again on top of the cushions followed by more shadows below, creating this alternating light/dark pattern. The smooth texture of the sofa looks gorgeous too with my favourite parts being all of those holes and how the surrounding material is rendered sinking into them. The creases along the front planes of the cushions look lovely too. I really like that full reddish pillow by Lisa's feet, her witch's hat and the stark contrast in light and shadows there, as well as the detail in the book-case with the various colours and patterns but with a layer of shadow across all of it, keeping it subtle and not distracting from Lisa. The shiny metal tea-pot is great too and I do enjoy the little pink magic particles floating around it as well as those same particles flowing out from her other hand and around the turning page of the book. That book too looks wonderfully striking with the strongly contrasting light and shadows on it too. Unsurprisingly, Lisa herself looks just as beautifully painted as her surroundings, her hair looks gorgeous and I really like how most of it is in shadow with a very bright warm edge-lighting running down one side, accentuating the splitting strands there and popping so nicely against the darker tones. That purple flower in her hair is such a lovely shade too and a great contrast to her warmer hair colour. I love her clothes too with the golden trim across both white and purple materials, with the bra section of her clothes having a lovely smooth texture and some popping lighting with a bright circle of light surrounded by shadow. The purple and white materials draped over her bum have a wonderful painterly texture to them that pops against the smooth rendering of the sofa and her skin and I love how the folds look, as well as the thin cast-shadows where the materials overlap each other and Lisa. The patterns in the stockings are very well done too and I really like their colour, with the rendering/definition of Lisa's legs through the material looking beautiful, particularly with the clear divide in tones running through them, really accentuating their shapes and plane changes. Similar to her legs, her right arm looks terrific with that clear separation of light and dark which I really like along her hand with the thumb and part of her index finger popping against the rest of the hand/fingers, likewise, the thin line of light running up the other arm and hand is a nice, striking contrast in tone. And of course, that face is utterly stunning! π»π»π»π»π» I adore how her green eyes really pop with a lovely shine to them, they're utterly captivating! ππ The larger size of the eyes just makes them all the more noticeable and alluring and there's something so cute and gorgeous about her subtle smile, I also really like the soft warm glow running across her mostly darkened face. Absolutely amazing work on this piece! You've really outdone yourself here with a beautifully painted character, lovely surroundings with an atmosphere that is so pleasant and cozy. And naturally I love the purple and the strongly contrasting lighting too! ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
