Rapunzel

Hey everyone, it's finally finished! I wanted to give it an extra day to make sure all the details were in place and everything was perfect =D

Wanted to have a bit more fun with this one with different expressions, and making a scene that's a bit different from the usual "sexy scene".

So I wanted to make a scene where she's just mad a finding split ends on her hair! =D. Also, I like painting hair, in case someone didn't notice, specially when I tweaked a few things on my hair brush to make it more efficient =D

Anyway hope you guys like it!

Thank you! Initially she didn't have the pout expression and the scene was slightly different. But once I started to work on it, it was one of those "what if .. " moments that really worked out. Some faces and expressions take me hours to get it right, this one was 1st try in a few minutes lol. Also, I had a small problem to fix with the hair. I mean, it's gigantic, and as much as I love painting hair, it can be VERY time consuming, so I had to "hide" part behind her and make convenient appearances so it still shows she has really long hair, but a doable task in terms of time to draw it lol And I absolutely loved the idea of that spring dress vibe. They have a perfect mix of being confortable, sexy and vibrant . And I also wanted to pursue a slightly different body type for her, with smaller breasts and a more petit build, I thought it would be a perfect mix of sexy and cutesy =D

Oh I was so excited to see this painting, Rapunzel is my favourite Disney princess and we get to see some purple, a recipe for something special if I've ever seen one! Suffice to say, this finished piece is utterly gorgeous 😻😻😻😻😻 I utterly adore the colours here, the blue sky, green plants and Rapunzel's green eyes and purple dress all pop so beautifully with the warm tones of the mountains in the background and all of the wood surrounding her. I especially like the way the blue tones cut into the pinkish rock-face, as well as the bright, chipped edges of the wood corners. Those bright edges pop very nicely and really show how some of the wooden surfaces overlap. The detail in the plants looks terrific and all of the wood is beautifully textured and detailed, I always love how you paint chips and cracks in wood and stone and this is no exception. The metal patterns on the door as well look terrific and I really like the edge highlights there too. And of course, Rapunzel is simply divine! The hair is fantastic and the lighting is so very striking, particularly the bright edges hit by the warm sunlight, contrasting strongly with the darker tones on the inside of the hair. The level of detail across all of the hair and the overall contrast between the brighter side and the hair more in the shadow is wonderfully done. Rapunzel's dress is perfect too, the material looks so light, particularly on the straps across her shoulders, you really captured this feeling of it being light and loose, same with the ribbon between the breasts too. The various folds across the bra section where it is pulled down into that corset look lovely and I especially adore the folds in the middle of the skirt and how they're rippling and crinkled as her left leg rises. The shadows in those folds pop so much against the brighter pinkish-purple and I just love it. I also really like the subtle colour difference between the corset and the rest of the dress, looking more purple while the rest is more pinkish (that's how it looks on my monitor at least 😹) And the overall skin tones and textures look amazing as always. The great contrasts between light and shadow across her right arm and her raised leg pop so very nicely and accentuate the plane changes there very well. I also really like the various bumps and creases on both knees, while I also like the colour contrast with parts of her face and most of her left arm being shrouded in cooler, blue-tinted shadows. Speaking of which, the face is just gorgeous! The eyes really pop with a warm, vibrant green, those dark shadows along the her left really show off the overall plane change from the front to the side of her face and I love those cast shadows from strands of her hair that runs across her face, conforming to the shapes of her fore-head, eye-socket and cheek. Just beautiful work on this painting! The expression and pose are wonderful, Rapunzel looks gorgeous, cute and sexy and the overall colours are this beautiful, vibrant explosion! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I have to say, many of them are in my favourites as well! Esmeralda is likely the next on (at some point in the future). And rwell, her day is completely ruined by the split ends!

Lee

thank you! I thought it would be fun to vary the expression a bit =D

Wow, what a beautiful drawing, your Disney princesses drawings are my favorites, i really liked jasmine and Ariel and now Rapunzel, hopefully you draw more princesses in the future like Pocahontas, Esmeralda and Megara, I like her face expression, it’s funny how she’s mad about her split ends lol.

That is a great picture, very subtle pout she has
