Gygaia portrait
Added 2024-11-19 09:00:11 +0000 UTCI drew the hair style referring to the Kore statue and my headcanon!
She name is Gygaia(Gygaea). She is daughter of Amyntas I and sister of Alexander I. She was married by Amyntas I or Alexander I to Persian general Boubares(Bubares). This is an example of a political and diplomatic marriage typical of Argead. They have a son named Amyntas, This is the same name as his grandfather. He was given the Alabanda(city of Caria) by Xerxes(Hdt. 5.21.2).
I don't know how she lived in Persia, I would like to think that her son has a position of honor and that she has been respected and lived.
Her clothes were painted almost exactly as in the Kore statue. Her earrings are based on those excavated from Sindos.
Gygaia and Kore have drawn before and I will post a comparison. I think it's quite a different way to draw... I hope everyone likes the new stuff.
