Two teenage girls escape a mental health facility, form a punk band in early 80s New York City, and see all the highs and lows that pre-Giuliani Times Square had to offer. Also Tim Curry is in it! Writer/director Allan Moyle supposedly based the story for this film on a diary he found wedged in a couch he bought. He revisited discontented youth a decade later with Pump Up the Volume.
