WaifuGame 2023: Fight Club and Dating Sim Updates

Hi Chat, happy new year. This post is me, the developer, lining up what the plans are for WaifuGame this year. WaifuGame is turning two years old at the end of April, which is also roughly the start of Season 3.

Waifu Fight Club (Estimate May 2023)

Since WaifuGame started development, the goal was always to make a sexy version of Pokemon where you would fight with your favorite characters from games and anime. We're still on that road, with ultimately PVP as the main goal because it lets players prove that their waifu really is the best waifu. It'll feature rankings and leaderboards. But my estimate is that won't be before 2025.

Battle Mechanics

In the Waifu Fight Club's third season, players will engage in player versus environment (PVE) battles. In the previous season, players could only attack using Basic Attacks, which caused damage based on the character's stats. However, in this upcoming season, we are adding Status Attacks that can cause ongoing damage, Defensive Moves that can heal or protect against attacks, and the ability to use items to counter negative effects.

Adventure

Additionally, in Season 3, we plan on adding a long "quest line" for the player to show that they're able to defeat tough gym leaders who will brandish powerful Animus of each of the 18 types. You'll unlock Badges for your profile, get XP gains, and get cool rewards.

Prestige Levels

Starting in Season 3, we're adding a Prestige mechanic to Animu levels. Essentially, this lets them go above their level cap and become even more powerful. Prestige Levels will be hard to acquire and require significants Gamer Gold and time investment.

WaifuGame Dating Simulator (Estimate September 2023)

WaifuGame was always designed as a "game" that you could play passively. Like when you're bored at school, or on the toilet, or before bed. In that spirit, I'm planning to add features to make WaifuGame act as a girlfriend (or boyfriend) experience. You could receive messages, gifts, cards, and small things during the day just as a little fun distraction. AI technology will be used to provide unique variety content. We're not announcing too much yet!

Smaller Updates for 2023

Aside from the two major updates planned for this year, there are some smaller new features but they are not set in stone. The development cycle of WaifuGame is that there are essentially two periods of about a month that I work full-time on WaifuGame, and smaller updates and features are done if there's time. I'm most excited about overhauling profiles and adding profile pages and making WaifuGame available in a second major language (which would open the possibility to make WaifuGame available in more languages).

Conclusion

In conclusion, WaifuGame has big plans for 2023 with the release of Waifu Fight Club in May and WaifuGame Dating Simulator in September. Waifu Fight Club will introduce new battle mechanics and a quest line for players to defeat gym leaders and earn rewards, as well as the addition of Prestige Levels for Animu characters. The dating simulator will allow players to experience a simulated relationship with unique content from AI technology. Smaller updates and new features are also planned for the year, including the overhaul of profiles and the expansion to a second major language.
