Kiri La Kill - Chapter 5

As Kiri was being made aware of the Titan that was Honnouji Academy, and how they might relate to his situation… said Titan was also making itself more aware with his situation, and how it might relate to them.

In the highest point of the academy, a group of five of the most important people within the Academy… The heads of the various committees that collectively administered the Academy in the form of the Elite Four, and the illustrious leader who would lead them to glory in the perfect form of Kiryuin Satsuki..

“An anomaly like this… is highly unusual.” Inumuta Hoka, the Head of the Information and Strategy Committee spoke, having called the meeting to discuss the very information that the Computer Science Club had acquired in the day prior.

“It’s just an earthquake.” A nasally voice interjected, its owner being none other than Jakuzure Nonon! The Non-Athletic Committee Chair, who oversaw the largest variation of clubs out of her peers, and who prided herself on being the closest confidant of their illustrious leader! Currently, it was evident she was paying little attention to the meeting, cleaning out a clarinet as she was.

“A highly unusual earthquake.” Inumata countered, his fingers flying across his keyboard as he relayed information to the figure that sat at the head of the table, calmly sipping on her tea with her eyes closed… yet likely already aware of everything, and already with a plan that would be lauded by her subordinates.

Who were, of course, still engaged in their own power struggles, even now. “What’s unusual about an earthquake in Japan?” Nonon countered right back at him, her intentions being a mix of wanting to get out of this meeting already, and wanting to push Inumuta back down the pecking order in the battle for Lady Satsuki’s favor.

But of course, she was not the only player here, far from it… and considering the wide amount of skills on display here, it was inevitable that some of her peers really wouldn't be all that skilled in the subtle aspects of their game.

“Inumuta wouldn’t have called us here and wasted Lady Satsuki’s time over just a simple earthquake!” A booming voice cut through all of the subtle power plays in an instant, filled with enough strength to shake the room itself and a shadow that more than matched the projected strength as it loomed over the Inumuta. “Unless he wishes to regret it greatly!”

It belonged to none other than Gamagoori Ira. The head of the Disciplinary Committee, who had proclaimed himself and was widely accepted as the Impenetrable Shield of Lady Satsuki and her foremost enforcer in the matters of ensuring Kiryuin Satsuki’s iron rule over the denizens of both Honno City, and the Academy that ran it… an undeniably vital player and not one that could be ignored.

His gargantuan figure dwarfed everyone in the room by a large margin, so much so that even the tallest among them would barely be able to reach his almost comically wide chest. It was an intimidating sight that would have cowed anyone… Looming over Inumuta Hoka as he was, it was an admirable display of the comparatively stick-like boy’s courage that he didn’t cower in the face of it all.

“I assure you, this is no false impression, or else Lady Kiryuin would never approve this meeting in the first place.” He said, continuing along in a way that immediately pacified the looming Gamagoori. “The biggest clue of all is how this might not be an earthquake at all."

“I see…” Nonon griped. “So why did you say it was an earthquake at all, if that was the case?”

“To see if any of you would spot the discrepancy, Jakuzure.” The boy immediately responded, his glasses glinting. "Something you would have known had you read my pre-briefing report." He smirked in a way that had everyone gasping, knowing they had been outplayed.

“That’s absurd!”

“Your tricks undermine the sanctity of this meeting!”

“Cheater!”

“Continue on your report, Inumuta.”

Kiryuin Satsuki’s voice cut through all of the objections immediately, silence descending as she took an elegant sip of the cup of tea on her hand, before releasing a fond sigh… The small clink of her setting her tea down back on its plate had the conversation between the Elite Four resuming in an instant.

“A quick examination of the surroundings to look for any unusual activity revealed a disturbance in the town nearest to the anomaly..” Inumuta did as asked. “A town called Nomina… out of the way, and its Academy nominally independent of any alliance due to its isolated location and lack of promising prospects.”

“Did it get wiped off the map?” Asked a lackadaisical voice asked, not seeming all that concerned about the possibility

Inumuta shook his head.

“It received a visitation.” Inumuta said, clicking one final button on his keyboard. “Projecting the image now.”

Placed before the Elite Four and their Lady… was the image of a boy that was ostensibly their age in dirty clothing that seemed to be falling off of him. Black hair, indistinguishable eyes, and sharp teeth. He stood taller than all of them bar Gamagoori, with muscles visible underneath the lining of his clothes marking him as dangerous.

“We cannot match his identity to any of the records we have access to.” Inumuta introduced, making everyone perk up in shock. “All we know is that he suddenly appeared within the city, and began horrifying the locals.”

“Do we have any more reports about him?” The one who spoke was the hitherto unintroduced Chair of the Athletic Committee, Uzu Sanegayama. A tall and well muscled boy that was usually rather laidback… and only got so interested when he spotted something worth testing his kendo on.

“All denizens ran away from him on sight.” Inumuta said, once more with a shake of his head. “And the local School was pacified in an instant whenever they approached him… we don’t have visual footage of what happened.”

“Is this really important?” Nonon interjected.

“We cannot allow an unknown figure to roam around causing havoc, especially since we still don’t know how they caused that seismic activity.” Inumuta argued.

“I agree.” Kiryuin Satsuki spoke.

And that was that.

“We’ll have to bring him back to the school, but I’m sure no one is opposed to a disposal if it comes down to it.” Inumuta concluded.

“Which club are we sending?”

The proposal was placed, and someone immediately stood up.

“I would like to go.” Sanegayama spoke up, obviously spoiling for a fight.

“No, Sanegayama.” Satsuki once again interjected, looking at her subordinate with a disregarding look. “You will not shirk your duties over this… though I will allow you to monitor it from afar.”

If the Kendo-wielder was upset by that, he didn’t let it show, merely bowing his head. “As you say, Lady Kiryuin.”

“The Cultural Outreach Club could work, if we want to bring him in peacefully.” Nonon proposed.

“If he proves hostile, they will be torn to pieces.” Inumuta countered. “I propose the Boys Football Team, they are returning from defeating the Tokyo’s Schools, and it would only be a small detour on their path."

“Agreed.” Sanageyama nodded, sighing regretfully as he kicked his feet up on the desk, and returned to his apathetic stance. “Eleven against one should be more than enough…”

“Hmph.” Nonon scoffed, inspecting her nails. “I assume you purposefully didn’t count Red Card Jozu.”

“Oh.” The Chair of the Athletic Committee scoffed, closing his eyes. “It won’t come to that."

And so, the plan was made…
