Since Steam OS is Arch-Linux-based, it could work probably (I'm using Manjaro - which is also Arch-Linux-based - and get the known Linux-bugs with the UI there, but otherwise could play the Game as good as my old Hardware allows). Yeah, remapping controls (is that possible in game - if so, never used it) would be interesting though - but since you can connect the Steam-Deck to an external monitor or connect a mouse to it, too, you could try to use it as a portable Desktop somewhere and see if you can remap it somehow with the help of standard PC-periphery (keyboard/mouse).

That would be me. Can confirm it works just fine, haven't encountered issues outside the UI one but they are very minimal imo. I also haven't tried mapping the deck controls so idk how that goes.

The game has only less than a handful of Linux users, granted, one of them did test it on the Deck. Only a couple issues with the UI are present, but the rest appears to work fine.

@oxstrongjuggernaut there’s a simpler way: Open terminal.app as you normally would, and type ‘cd’ and a space. Drag Bonfire.app from a Finder window into the terminal window and hit enter/return. Then type ‘chmod +x Contents/MacOS/Bonfire’ and hit enter/return. After that, you can open the application after you override a security prompt in Gatekeeper. Open the application and let MacOS complain. Then go System Preferences -> Security (Security and Privacy) and on the “General tab” you should see at the bottom a prompt about bonfire and a button that says “run anyway” or something to that effect

Thank you for the information. Dave, could I ask you for clarification on the steps after step 1 please? I'm confused. In step 2 you say that the Bonfire.app folder needs to be opened in Terminal. Is this "navigate to Contents/MacOS. Type 'cd ' without the quotes and drag the Bonfire.app bundle into the terminal window. Hit Enter." the method of opening the Bonfire.app folder in Terminal? I'm sorry, please assume I do not know anything about computers. Where do you navigate to 'Contents/MacOS'? I think this is the part where I get lost, is that in Terminal or is that a part of the right-clicked menu for Bonfire in the 'get info' menu?

I've gotten it to run on MacOS Catalina with minor trouble. There are several problems, unrelated to Catalina notarization and binary signing. The game executable doesn't have the correct permission bit to count as an executable, and the .App bundle is flagged by Safari as a download. Process: 1. Right-click the .app file and select 'get info'. Click the little lock on the bottom-right of the info window to unlock the bundle. 2. You need to open the Bonfire.app folder in Terminal, navigate to Contents/MacOS. Type 'cd ' without the quotes and drag the Bonfire.app bundle into the terminal window. Hit Enter. 3. Execute 'cd Contents/MacOS/' 4. Execute 'chmod +x ./Bonfire'. The next time you launch the application, MacOS GateKeeper should warn you the developer is not identified. Go to settings > Securtiy & Privacy and at the bottom of the 'general tab' you should be able to unlock the panel and approve Bonfire.app.

So whenever I download a new update, all my progress in the story line reverts back to the start (i still keep changes to my character and items). Is this supposed to happen? Whenever i update, i replace all the files it wants to replace, if that has anything to do with it.

I'd love the idea, but you need to understand that most people will not get how to apply a delta patch; some don't even know where to place the application for proper runtime, so dealing with "I can't apply patch because I skipped a version" issues are something I wouldn't want to deal with. Easier to just let everyone download the complete thing until I find a way to automate the patching process.

Is there no way to package unity updates as "deltas" - only the changes to files, the same way GitHub handles code? I assume the bulk of each download is an unchanging set of core assets.

No need to do anything special, you just delete the old installation and extract the new; your progress is saved on your machine's local AppData so it is always persistent

I am having the same problem as Twest for the new update (8.2) for Windows. Nothing is there it just loads a blank page with no download. I tried the other links and they work for me, with downloads, but not the windows 8.2.
