Free update 0.36.4

This patches bugs found on 0.36.0:

Mac users in OSX Catalina are reporting issues getting the game to run: Apple has recently decided to block non official Apple apps by changing some directives on Gatekeeper, OSX's security system.

In order to work around this, you will need to do a series of terminal commands explained in this article in order to enable Bonfire and any other application quarantined by this. If you still can't get it to open, I strongly suggest you set up a Windows partition on Boot Camp and use the Windows Bonfire version.

EDIT

Looks like I needed to compile yet another one, fixing Lua script deletion after a character is removed from the scene.

It also depends on what you have the game graphics set at. Fastest gives the poorest lighting while spectacular gives the best.

Really need more lighting in that cave, lol, it's so dark I can't see anything even with my monitor at max brightness!

Hey guys, so I was able to fix the issue on macOS Catalina, it's a file type issue with the main internal MacOS executable file. It's not super hard to fix but it isn't an easy fix that just anyone can do. I had to use Terminal to change the file type of the executable file. How and where would you like me to detail the steps I took to fix the issue? :) I am running Bonfire perfectly fine on my Mac now.

Anthony Dream

I'm very familiar with the macOS runtime environment, and I'm almost certain this isn't a Gatekeeper issue. Usually, if an app from an "unidentified developer" is opened for the first time after unpacking, it won't let you run it until you go to settings and basically force open it in Security & Privacy. A special button will appear that will let you open the app anyway. That is still the same in Catalina. A rotund "the application can't be opened" is more of an incompatibility issue with the runtime environment, and as Adam just mentioned, yes Apple has basically forbidden all 32-bit apps from running with Catalina. That could be the problem or perhaps it is something else. Catalina is freshly new, and I'm assuming you are exporting your demos through Unity's features? Perhaps we may have to wait until Unity updates its API to be fully compatible with the new Catalina. Just a thought.

Anthony Dream

Yeah, even with Gatekeeper disabled my Mac won't run it. Is it by any chance still a 32-bit application? Catalina has disabled running those.

I came for the orcs, stayed to watch the beautiful hillside vistas. My god t

Sorry this update has been wonky, especially for us Mac users. All your effort on this is greatly appreciated.

I find that exploring the outback and searching for new items or portals can be quite time consuming. I don't know if anything like this has already been implemented but since the game has several consumable plants that provide temporary bonuses it would be useful to have one that provides a considerable running speed boost.
