Delta 1.6b2 - melonDS Update (No More BIOS!)

Hello Patrons!

We have another Delta update for everyone today, this time with some big improvements for iPad and DS fans.

For our dual-screen gamers, DS is getting a major upgrade by updating melonDS to v0.9.5 🍉 This improves compatibility with a number of DS titles as well as overall performance. And as a bonus for new users, this version of melonDS no longer requires you to provide BIOS files — DS is now playable as soon as you install Delta! This would not be possible without the work of Arisotura, and you can view their work here or donate to their Patreon.

WARNING: Previous DS save states will no longer be compatible, so we advise saving normally in-game before updating.

Oh, and that’s not all - for our GameBoy users, you can also enjoy another new DS feature and “insert” your GBA carts into the DS! Long-press any DS game and you’ll now be able to choose which GBA game you want inserted. This allows you to use the DS dual-slot feature for things like transferring Pokemon between generations ❇️ ➡️ 💎

And for those of you who like to do multiple things at once, we’ve added support for multiple windows on iPad. Play all our systems simultaneously, and Delta will automatically handle pausing and switching the controller between games. If one game going wasn’t enough for you, now you can run multiple games at once — create your own version of the Nintendo Championship and see how fast you can complete a series of different games back to back!

And last but not least, something every true zoomer will appreciate: we've increased the Fast Forward speed for all DS games. If you’re really in a hurry — or you’re like Shane and can’t imagine playing Pokemon at default speed — you can now play up to 3x as fast 🏎️ 🏎️ 🏎️
