How to make the original 3D model Aidec

The other day I was finally ready to sell my original 3D model Aidec avatar!

This time, I'd like to write about the process of making this avatar.

Why did I make this avatar?

It was about a year ago, and I was having a cup of coffee at a cafe during my break time at work as usual. I suddenly had this thought.

If I created a character with all my fetishism, what would I end up with?

With that thought in mind, I immediately started to design a character.

The chubby belly, the bud-like tail, the vertical oval eyes, the double teeth, and so on...

And that's how Aidec came to be.

At that time, I had just started VRChat in earnest, and I felt strongly that I wanted to make an avatar of this character.

After that, I was frantically using Blender and Unity while watching this video.

It was not easy for me to handle Blender and Unity as I had 2D knowledge but no 3D knowledge.

However, I just wanted to create an avatar, so I steadily proceeded with the work.

And the result is this early version of Aidec.

Looking at it now, I really miss it...

From this point on, I experienced various encounters on VRChat, which made me smile and cry more than usual.

I may be exaggerating, but this experience changed the way I look at people.

Developing Aidec for Sale

There are a lot of young people in VRChat. And I was often encouraged and comforted by these young people.

So I thought, "I want to give back to these people, even if only a little.

When I was actually using Aidec Avatar, I was often noticed and some people even said I was attractive.

So, I decided to rebuild Aidec to make it available for sale as an avatar.

In order to make Aidec available for sale, I first had to fix the UVs.

Now that I look at it, it looks terrible in many ways....

Then I reworked the UVs, and also the eye modeling.

That's how the official original 3D model Aidec was completed.

The future

This weekend, I'm going to start selling this Aidec model on BOOTH.

I'd like to see how much the sales of this model increase in the future.

I don't know if I'll make a new model based on sales, update the Aidec model, or if my fickle nature will kick in and make a fan animation...

I don't know myself right now. For now, I'll make sure to do a final check of my model before I try to sell it.
