Optimize It Yourself! (for Hands-On Optimizers)
I made this because I was tired of not knowing what was secretly making my avatars huge. Optimizers that do everything for you are great, but I’m nosey and I want to see what’s chunking me up.
It’s super basic: drag your avatar in, hit scan, and it:
- Lists every texture, mesh, material, animation, and audio
- Sorts them biggest to smallest so you can find the big boys first
- Lets you click names to jump right to them in your project
- Highlights 4K textures & high-poly meshes bright red
Note: This isn’t an instant optimizer.
Import the package into your Assets, then go to the top menu bar, Tools, Optimize It Yourself! to open it
The sizes shown are uncompressed VRAM memory sizes (the same way VRChat rates avatars) so you can see what’s making your avatar 'Poor'
I tried to make the estimates as accurate as possible, but they’re rough guesses, not perfect numbers. Use them as hints, not absolutes
