Bit of an offbeat selection this month but we found out recently that our dear friend Spencer Charnas had NEVER ONCE IN HIS LIFE seen Shrek, so we decided to remedy that with a commentary track. So here you go. It's Shrek. With me, Chelsea, and Spencer, who hopefully will figure out what kind of animal Shrek is before the end of the movie. It's not a frog, bud.

2024-01-11 04:50:43 +0000 UTC2 fun Shrek facts: (1) this took abormally long to record bc Myers did the whole thing is his normal voice, then asked to redo all his lines with the Scottish accent; (2) the “Duloc is a theme park parody of Disney” and further driven home by Farquaad intentionally resembling Michael Eisner who is widely credited rejuvenating Disney by prioritizing parks over movies in the 70s and 80s and who clashed heavily with Katzenberg when the latter came on board and convinced the company to shift attention back to film, resulting in the Disney Renaissance
