A question about supports

When you receive a model (out in the wild west of the internet), how do you prefer your supports?? (This is in reference to minis/tabletop minis/pinup minis)

Comments

I do all my own pre-supported files and also do them for a few Patreons I support. My supports come off easily and clean.

I like the ones that pre-support in lychee or chutbox. This way I have the best of both worlds. Lazy and not enough spoons straight to printer, or I can scale and adjust according to how my OCD kicking in.

Haha I do my best - sometimes the small parts on the 32mm aren't too optimized and they can have a few issues. I.e. FINGERS

I agree. I hate when I buy a model only to find the artist (not you QB) sold a supported model that has errors.

Yeah I'm mostly curious where the audience leans. I'll continue to offer my usual of all 3 unsupported, chitu, and presupported. I still don't slice my models as it changed my workflow a bit too much but every once in a while I may have a model geared for slicing

Proper supports are nice since they save time, but I have encountered pre-supported models which were a pain to clean after printing. Unsupported models can be scaled easier, which may be needed with some scales. Cut models are best, since you can increase them much easier. If you are asking whether you should pre support the models or not, I'd say do so, but offer the chitubox or lychee files as well, so we can remove/modify the supports if needed.

I'd rather the models be cut than supported.

I'm an oddball. I like both supports and pre-supports. There are times I don't want to focus on resizing a figure and I'd like professional supports that improve the odds of a good print. Then other times, I've got the focus to do 'em myself and I do my own thing.
