This is Iris, a chameleon gnome bard hailing from the trash island of Gogpodda. Mere months ago, Iris was vibrant, dazzling colors on their skin and hair, a boisterous personality fostered by adventures with their companions, and a gap year upon the open ocean, swashbuckling with a rowdy crew of pirates, and performing with spoken word stories.

Iris's happy reunion with their adventuring party did not last long. One of their companions was brutally killed by a Vermlek, the demon consuming her insides and puppeteering her body. Iris and their other compatriots killed the demon too late, and the loss of their friend saw the life and color bleed from Iris over the intervening weeks.

Iris has since become single minded, dedicated to returning their friend to life. They've changed their performance style, now playing a shawm, hoping that perhaps the notes can reach where their words failed, beyond the Boneyard, and beckon the spirit back. Iris carries their friend's remains in a coffin, thanks to the power of a lifting belt, and adorns themselves with mourner's clothing, a somber reminder for all until their task is finished.
